    Pros

Salary is competitive and an overall good place to gain experience and knowledge of the field and how to cope.

    Cons

Not much understanding from management. Lab acquisitions can be very stressful to employees. Made to feel like a number instead of needed

    Advice to Management

    Listen to concerns from employees

I worked at Mid America Clinical Laboratories full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Benefits and PTO were decent.

    Cons

No opportunities for growth or advance. Executive team live in a cliquish-glass tower and think only of themselves. Retaliation for simple mistakes are never ever forgotten or forgiven. Bonuses only given to executives not rest of team. They only listen to themselves yet pride themselves on their alleged open door policy. Yeah right. What an embarrassment.

    Advice to Management

Fire management starting with the CEO.

I have been working at Mid America Clinical Laboratories full-time

    Pros

Benefits are great...401K, dental, vision, health (Blue Cross), etc. PTO is great and easy to accumulate

    Cons

Nepotism is huge. They don't appreciate their staff. Over worked...give them an inch and they take a mile. They don't listen well to ideas to improve a process and they don't handle staff "drama" well...they are quick to point blame and don't try to resolve issues (could be interpersonal issues, schedule, etc).

    Advice to Management

There are some members of management that need to go. They need to listen. They need to figure out a way to train the management staff on how to handle situations, how to be kind but not participate in favoritism, find solutions to issues and not to pass judgement or place blame.

I worked at Mid America Clinical Laboratories full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I enjoyed my co-workers on night shift.
    PTO and benefits were reasonable.
I liked working with my direct managers.
    Shift differential pay.

    Cons

    Lack of communication between departments.
Some employees hated their jobs and treated you as such.
3% or less raise a year. I head they didn't even have a raise after I left.

    Advice to Management

Encourage your employees by increasing raises and ways for advancement.

    Pros

Huge network and opportunities for advancement. Focus on quality and leading edge testing technology. Active process improvement involves everyone and empowers all employees to make changes.

    Cons

A few disgruntled employees tend to voice overzealous complaints and over shadow all those positive opinions. There is a reason that there are 100s of employees who have stayed with the company since it's inception.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be competitive and active in the community to change the minority perception.

I worked at Mid America Clinical Laboratories full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Being fired was the best thing that's happened to me in years! Lab staff in location is great-pre MACL.

    Cons

Too many to list. First thing...company acquired too many locations at once. DO YOUR RESEARCH!

    Advice to Management

BUCK UP. Admit that you are human and don't retaliate/get violent for your dishonesty & shortcomings.

I have been working at Mid America Clinical Laboratories full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working with patients, and making a difference. Knowing your smile can brighten someone's day. Doing my job right, and the best I can. To make sure I am helping someone else.

    Cons

Communication is horrible when it comes to management. Insurance is to high. The pay is low, you could work fast food with what they pay.
Supervisors have no idea what they are doing, nor know what's going on. Poorly ran company. Employees leaving left and right, on top of many looking for jobs. Company going down hill.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect. Stop talking about other employees to others. Be more organized, and hire more people. Stop adding so much work to The phlebotomist, and not paying them what they are worth. Stop allowing lazy employees to be lazy while the hard workers do it all and become to over whelmed. VALUE your employees, because without us. You have no job.
