    Pros

Genuinely concerned about staff and offer fantastic amount of PTO. Perks are offered all the time. The company has grown a lot for the good.

    Cons

None that I've encountered as everyone seems to work well together. There have been positions moved around sometimes and can get confusing.

    Advice to Management

    Continue doing what your doing

    Pros

Very family oriented company! Promotes from within. Strong leadership, always looking out for the best interest of their employees.

    Cons

Working with field staff is a challenge, as you are not working face to face. But, based on our unique niche and what we do, we find a way to communate with each other.

    Expensive insurance plans.

I have been working at Mid-America Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Leadership is considerate, generous and concerned for employees well being. Team atmosphere but with autonomous work environment. Minimal micro managing and ideas of team members are taken into consideration. It's still a family run business even though it has grown a lot.

    Cons

The company has been through a lot of change (growth and expansion). This is good for the company but has been tough on team members to adjust to new routines and way of doing things. Processes are beginning to get back to a normal routine, but change is inevitable.

    Advice to Management

Consolidate the number of databases used for day to day work.

    Pros

Great co-workers, flexible hours, low stress, good pay and generous vacation time.

    Cons

Little room for advancement, pay raises are based on years served not on the quantity and quality or work. Expensive and poor insurance program

    Advice to Management

Keep quality workers happy by continuing to treat them well.

I worked at Mid-America Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of PTO vacation time. 4 weeks a year. Flexible and some good people to work with.

    Cons

Lack of communication, poor leadership. The only way to get promoted even if you're more than qualified is to be sneaky and suck up to certain managers. Fiscally unstable and very small-business minded.

    Advice to Management

Give people in the office a voice by allowing their ideas to be implemented. Stop promoting and allowing unprofessional behavior and dress attire in the office. Communicate better with field staff and home office. Provide training for improving professional skills, especially to mid-management.

I worked at Mid-America Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The owners are wonderful people. They are very warm and caring. I also liked working with the School Smiles program and the accounting staff.

    Cons

There seems to be no business sense. Dental hygienists with no business experience are running the nursing home portion of the business. Operational processes are completely reactive and not proactive, wasting time and money. High school graduate and vocational skilled managers should not be as disrespectful to the educated and trained dentists they have working for them. The polarizing scheduling personnel are one of their biggest problems that's not being reigned in. The management needs diversity training, as most people of color are pushed into the corners with no upward career path (I am white and I blatantly saw this).

    Advice to Management

Hire someone with a business degree and business experience to overhaul the nursing home program. Cut your wasteful overhead spending. Polarizing office staff and high school gossip mentality is a real problem for your company.
