I have been working at MidFlorida Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great culture and great people. You can tell that mostly everyone enjoys working there. Health and medical insurance is very good.

    Cons

Time off could be improved. You only get 10 days when you start and have to wait 5 years for another week.

    Advice to Management

Reward top performers, increase vacation time or add a couple personal days.

I worked at MidFlorida Credit Union full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun environment, most managers genuinely care about their employees. Benefits for full timers are great as far as paid time off, and health benefits.

    Cons

Not much room for career growth, its a very bureaucratic system. If you love what you do and are content being in the same position then you will be happy, but if you crave growth and new opportunities this may not be the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Management should focus on growing individuals rather than keeping them where they are at, providing more opportunities and training would benefit the employees a lot

I have been working at MidFlorida Credit Union full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, financially strong company with many locations

    Cons

Hours and scheduling, only option is to start part time.

    Advice to Management

Midflorida has grown too fast over last few years, we need to pause and get things running smoothly, efficiently and most importantly, accurately company wide.

I worked at MidFlorida Credit Union full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits but have to work there five years to get them.
    Flexible in hours .
    Company bonus plan
    Pay middle industry

    Cons

Poor Regional Manager no motivation from Tampa area or Winter Haven Regional bad month staff behind there back and are on power trips more concerned about themselves than leading and motivating. Seam to create drama and stir up conflicts.Senior Management chief never seen in branches never have time for retail staff.

    Advice to Management

Need to go back to the beginning and take a hard look at who you put into Regional Manager positions. Get out and talk to the staff. Don't loose focus on what made MIDFLORIDA great. Staff needs to feel like they are appreciated not just a numbers producer.

I have been working at MidFlorida Credit Union (More than a year)

    Pros

This company really cares about it's employees, I'm constantly amazed by the level of dedication the higher ups have towards us.

    Cons

It would be great if they didn't push us so hard to sell products - especially with that new law in effect where we can't call anyone. That is really going to hurt our sales goals and I hope it doesn't hurt us too much.

I worked at MidFlorida Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good work-life balance.
    Most employees are friendly.
Good starting point as a first job.
Helps you develop your time management skills.
No micro-management in consumer loan department.

    Cons

-Monotonous and tedious tasks as a loan processor. Call center atmosphere.
-Growth and advancement is limited. For instance, loan processors mainly have the same responsibilities as loan officers but pay is lower and they do not have lending authority. After being promoted to a loan officer, the next step up is eventually being apart of the credit committee. There they still have the same main responsibilities of a loan officer, but you now review the write ups and recommendations made by loan processors and loan officers who do not have sufficient lending authority.
-Lack of leadership at middle management level.
-Understaffed customer service department which leads to overflow of calls into other departments.

    Advice to Management

Place less value on longevity and more on skills and talent. Higher base pay for everyone. How do you intend to maintain and attract talent if pay is subpar?
