    Cons

    political

I worked at Middlesex County College full-time

    Pros

The school is conveniently located in central New Jersey with two satellite campuses located in Perth Amboy and New Brunswick.

    Cons

The higher administration is strongly disliked by the faculty, are largely out of touch with current academic trends, and fail to implement even the mildest suggestion by subordinates.

    Advice to Management

    Wake up or move on.

I have been working at Middlesex County College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The demand isn't very high on faculty members; correspondingly, the pay isn't very high. Middlesex CC is a decent place for low stress work.

    Cons

The pay is relatively low, the students are generally poor, there is little freedom in selecting texts, sometimes hiring is driven more by diversity than quality.

    Advice to Management

Try to be more innovative in allowing different teaching techniques.

I have been working at Middlesex County College full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Overall it is an excellent place to work and highly recommended. Growth is limited to retirement openings.

    Cons

Management style - Dictatorship. Be prepared to work for incompetent management. Once you realize the level and depth, you can laugh and the job will become more satisfactory. Management allows for very little input from workers; often suggestions to improve performance and savings are ignored.

    Advice to Management

Receive some proper management training and training in the field you are already supposed to know. Things change in 20 years...Learn how to hire a diverse workforce and listen to their suggestions.

I worked at Middlesex County College full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

For full time employees the benefits are great. Medical and tuition reimbursement.
    Nice campus,
Majority of the other employees are nice.
Good for those who want to complete a degree then move on.

    Cons

It depends on the department. I've worked at 4 different departments. Some are nice, laid back, the jobs can be done with little hassle. Others will drive a person to the brink of insanity. Especially in Admission, Bursar, Financial Aid and Registrar offices.
There is little opportunity for advancement. The only way to advance is to wait for someone to retire. Typically the interview process is just a formality, a replacement is already decided on prior to the job being posted.
