I have been working at Midwest Consulting Group full-time

    Pros

At the end of the day we all want the same - a place where we feel valued and appreciated and we have a voice. You have got to respect a company that makes tough decisions that benefit the team. I haven't been here that long, so it is good to know and see these things also matter to the leaders of the company. I see myself staying at MCG now. It has become a fun team again with a lot of potential to make good money.

    Cons

Not really a con anymore, but previous behavior and yelling that used to be tolerated - but now it isn't!! It was very uncomfortable.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to us. We want to support the success of MCG.

A team-oriented environment, unlimited income potential, open door policy with management.

    Cons

Would liked to have received some encouragement or positive feedback occasionally from management but, overall, no complaints.

I worked at Midwest Consulting Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

I had worked with them as a contractor at CenturyLink in Monroe, LA. They decided to pay me $5/hour more to go down to Monroe, than work out of a KC office. They also paid a healthy per diem out of a strong hourly rate, ... and the process of coming on board, payroll, etc., was top notch. They always addressed concerns, if there were any, which rarely happened.

    Cons

Can't recall any, ... it was a great experience working with them.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for the opportunity to work for you.

    Pros

MCG is a very fun and collaborative company. There is no micromanagement and you have a lot of flexibility if you need to take time off and be with your kids. There have been some negative reviews on this site from ex-employees that are bitter and resentful but the truth is that they left on their own accord and now from what I hear regret their decision.

    Cons

All being said it is a business and there are expectations and accountability so you have to be hard working and professional.

I worked at Midwest Consulting Group full-time

    Pros

I have been gone for several months now and have had time reflect on the experiences I had at MCG. I made some good friends while there.

    Cons

This was the most stressful position I ever had in regards to stability. The turnover was crazy and I can count on one hand the people that are still at MCG that were there when I started. After the company went from one to two owners morale dipped and the owner who got the company had no business sense. He would encourage us to stay in the office during lunch to work and have us expense lunches, rather than encourage us to take candidates out to lunch. He is big on throwing money at a problem to solve it rather than getting to the root cause. Candidates did not want to talk to me when they found out I was a recruiter with MCG, sad really.

    Advice to Management

People who have left voluntarily or involuntarily have been more successful since leaving. Treat your recruiters as equals to your sales team and do not get hung up on metrics. When a recruiter is getting interviews set up for candidates to talk to clients and sending out offer letters, yes submittals may dip a week, but that can easily be made up the following week. Submittals do not pay the bills... placements do.

    Pros

I have worked for MCG for over 11 years and it has been an excellent place to work and have a career. The environment is very team oriented and everyone is focused on helping the clients and consultants. It is a positive culture and one based on customer service and being recognized for hard work and efforts.

    Cons

None that I can think of.

    Pros

MCG may have hit a speed bump, which can be expected for being in business 20 years, but they are now set to do great things with a great group of people.

    Cons

Can't think of any right now
