Great Company to Work For
Aug 15, 2022 - Manager in Kansas City, MORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Milbank if a family owned company and does employ a lot of relatives. That being said, even if you are not family by name, Milbank treats you like family and thrives to achieve a family atmosphere and culture. Milbank encourages growth and learning. Milbank promotes from within in most cases. Promotes a culture of respect.
Cons
Vacation could be better. Medical insurance pricing could be better.

Nepotism, Favoritism, and Worse. Steer Clear of Milbank!
Jul 29, 2022 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I can't even force myself to think of any pros.
Cons
I am writing this review for anyone considering a career at Milbank- turn away now and never look back. You will be left disappointed, overworked, and underpaid. It's hard to even know where to start with this review, because it was honestly a traumatizing experience working here. I dedicated the start of my career to this company with false promises made to me about advancing and growing my position. During my time here, my team and I experienced a revolving door of management and staff, where we were left on our own for months without a direct supervisor, and no appreciation for carrying everything on our backs during this stressful time. We all put in many extra hours, filled in for those in our department who quit, and essentially ran our own team without any supervision during this time. Before the previous supervisor left for a new job, many of us were promised a salary increase and change in title since we'd been meeting our goals and working to make the department whole. We stuck around hoping this promise would be kept and we would be rewarded for our hard work and loyalty. When a new supervisor was eventually hired, this individual made many of us feel put down, made us feel like our hard work wasn't valued, and we were even threatened at one point that we could not take previously planned and approved vacation time when random events and "fire drills" would come up, meaning management didn't want to handle it on their own. We were treated as disposable when really our work was holding up the only part of the department we had left. Our new supervisor told us that a salary increase or title change would not happen because of "company budget", even though we were promised this previously. This was extremely infuriating considering we had many more years experience in the department and industry compared to this new supervisor, who we now had to train from the ground up. To add to the frustration, promotions were happening all around in other departments. What we found most interesting is that the family members of the owners and CEO (who is extremely inappropriate and full of himself) were being promoted with major salary increases when really hard working staff in our department were told it wasn't possible and there wasn't room in the "budget". I couldn't stomach it anymore, and after I interviewed and found a new job, I couldn't believe how unfairly uncompensated I was for my position and experience. I was being offered jobs with 30% salary increases from what I was receiving at Milbank. I could add about 10 more paragraphs about my experience of mistreatment at Milbank, but the main points are that you will be grossly underpaid, overworked, and constantly put down when you're working your hardest. Save yourself and your career.. STAY AWAY!

Good Company, Great People to work with
Dec 9, 2021 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Everyone here is very friendly. The people in upper level positions make it a point to get to know most of the employees.
Cons
You do get a raise every year for the most part but its a cost of living adjustment and at max its 3%. Your first year you only get 7 vacation days and after your first year you get 10 and stay at that for awhile.

Growing Company with Plenty of Room to Imrpove
Jun 3, 2021 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Small company, so you do a lot of work. This in turn allows you to learn a lot about your respective trade. - Some really good people trapped in this company - Hours of business allow you to show up early and leave early most days
Cons
- Pay is so much lower than the market average that it’s almost offensive - Family owned and is very involved, so lots of backstabbing by people trying to make a name for themselves - Toxic atmosphere, always felt afraid to do your job in fear of being fired - Union environment gets old quickly from a supervisor perspective as the Union will win every time to avoid going to court
