    Pros

Incredibly mission driven company. Great culture.

    Cons

You definitely work hard, but the upper management makes sure that you know that it's worth it by showing how you are making a difference in residents' lives

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at Millennia Housing Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay wasnt bad. When you are on the good side of your Regional things are good- work performance almost doesnt matter!

    Cons

When you are on the bad side of your Regional Manager things are bad- you cannot do anything right, your performance doesnt matter...and Upper Management sticks by the Regional Manager.

    Advice to Management

They should learn you cant discharge an employee just because you dont like them anymore- its a business, not high school!

I worked at Millennia Housing Management (Less than a year)

    Pros

The employees are amazing, dedicated and go above and beyond

    Cons

Narrow mindedown upper management. They are afraid to stand up for what is right and fair for theIraq employees. Human Resources should be a comfortable environment where employees can go for conflict resolution. The HR staff acts like it is unapproachable, very unprofessional. Rob is their only assett

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to speak up and share what they are hearing from their employees. Employee surveys are very helpful and insightful. There is always more then one side to every story.

I have been working at Millennia Housing Management full-time

    Pros

There are many great opportunities to move upward in this company. I have been with Millennia for a little over a year and a half, and I was able to be promoted within the company, and I have been able to travel to many properties and help out in any way I can. Along the way I have worked with many great people and have met many great people who I have been fortunate to reach out to whenever need be, also I have worked under many great managers and others that have taught me so much to learn about this company and my current position. Communication is something that has helped me greatly while I have been here with Millennia, there is always someone you can pick up the phone and call and get you the answer you may be looking for. I was fortunate enough to be able to finish my college degree this past spring and continue to work full time at my property. I have also been able to go through a lot of training, including the annual conference where I have been able to learn a lot and training for certifications in this field that Millennia was fortunate enough to allow me to go too. I have found a company at a young age that is allowing me to start my career, something that fell into my lap and ever since I have not looked back.

    Cons

    I have not experienced any.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the hard work you do every day to make this a wonderful company to work for!

I worked at Millennia Housing Management (Less than a year)

    Pros

A professional company with continuous growth. Opportunity of advancement.

    Cons

The work load is extremely high. The amount of properties/unit count in the portfolio is an extreme amount and one must work all of the time in order to succeed.

    Advice to Management

I would advice management to higher more Regional Managers so that the size of properties and distance between them is less; thus giving the Regional Manager more time in order to focus on the properties which will lead to success

I worked at Millennia Housing Management (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are some wonderful employees at the company and I met some very hard working, dedicated people.

    Cons

Some managers were not qualified and were extremely unprofessional, vulgar and almost abusive, changing regulations depending on the situation. Lower employees were consistently blamed for mistakes made by upper management.

    Advice to Management

Take a long hard look at some of the top employees at the company. They are not representing you well outside of your office.

    Pros

Off on Holidays. Meet great co-workers and you get to share your horror stories

    Cons

I had been begging for security because they buy property in the most dilapidated areas. They don't care about your safety, your workload or anything concerning you. The ostrich that works in H.R. started at a restaurant and have forgot where she came from. Company just horrible.

    Advice to Management

Frank, get your hands dirty, so you can really see what's going on in your company. They gonna have you and some of your staff behind bars, by keeping people on subsidy when they have actually been evicted or moved out.

    Pros

During my time with Millennia I found that I was able to gain a lot of experience to learn and grow while meeting a lot of great people (both tenants and other employees). I felt like I made a difference at the property I was at and that feeling was important to me.

    Cons

Unfortunately all of the above came at a cost. In order to get things under control I had to work all sorts of late nights just to get caught up once I started. My Regional Managers were all horrendous and I felt as though I was not valued within the company because of the lack of acknowledgment received. When someone did mention how great they thought I was doing it was hard to believe their sincerity. Their pay scale is completely insulting and it goes to show how little they value their employees since their employees have to make money to pay their own bills. Working with their corporate office was at time next to impossible because their practices are dated and I could honestly go on for days about ways working for Millennia was not so great.

    Advice to Management

I feel like this is fair advice and I hope someone listens:
    - stop looking for "experience" and hire/promote passion
    - pay your employees what they are worth and stop low balling them upon hire.
    - involve property managers in more decision making. They are ultimately the most impacted by decisions yet they are never involved.
    - improve communication from corporate to the properties. This includes upper management.
    - update your antiquated processes. There's no reason that bills arent scanned for example.
    - stop making your managers like you're setting them up to fail. Budgets are virtually impossible to operate within.
    - hold regional managers more accountable. Most of the problems the company faces are caused by Regionals who frequently come onsite and either create a whirlwind of confusion or just do whatever they please and don't listen to the property managers.
    - hire quality property managers so your regionals don't have to be so enslaved to each property and rather can manage their managers instead of their managers and properties.

I worked at Millennia Housing Management full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Nothing to see here folks.

    Cons

Regional managers are either great leaders or terrible. The regional managers can make the difference of this being a pleasant work place or not. I worked for a regional manager that was the only reason I disliked my job. There was so much stress with the regional manager and no support when needed. This is old school sink or swim instead of setting managers up for success. There is little connection between the corporate office and the sites and this often times is frustrating. There are a few corporate employees that are fantastic resources when needed. Pay is on the low end, marginal health benefits and little education benefits aren't really enticing. Salaried employees are expected to work as much as requested without a day off. This was a job that looked much better in the rear view mirror.

    Advice to Management

Look more closely at regional managers treatment of site employees. Continue hiring many strong corporate support employees.

    Pros

none at all...terrible upper management. CEO is a nice person and means well but needs to look at his corporate team/staff members much closer

    Cons

The worst company I have ever worked for.

    Advice to Management

Train your team to do it "The Millennia Way" don't just throw everyone out there to fail!! No training AT ALL...them complain when you don't get it right. Everyone looks exhausted and it is not a team environment. Nasty upper management.
