I have been working at Millennium Research Group full-time

    Pros

There are lots of opportunities to expand your skill set and grow your career! As the company continues to evolve, you are constantly challenged and are able to move up and take on additional responsibilities. I really appreciate the fantastic company culture, fun atmosphere, amazing colleagues and work/life balance.

    Cons

MRG has now integrated with Decision Resources Group, and the amount of change can be overwhelming for some, but it's a really interesting time to be at the company. New processes and systems are being implemented to support growth, and with that comes along a few bumps in the road, but they're on the right path.

    Advice to Management

Continue to foster a wonderful company culture! Ensure employees know how they fit and can contribute to the growth and strategy of the company and keep supporting employee development.

I have been working at Millennium Research Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

You can not ask for smarter, more helpful, fun colleagues than those you would find here! The corporate culture here is amazing, and it's refreshing to see a company constantly try to improve and fight for their employees. There is a lot of opportunities and growth in the company, especially since they amalgamated with Decision Resources Group, which allows you to work with people in global offices (London, UK,... Hong Kong, Manhattan, Boston, etc.). Having an office in Yorkville and right off the subway line is super convenient too!

    Cons

There is a lot of change in the company, again, especially since the amalgamation with DRG, and that raises a lot of questions, But the management team in Toronto spends a lot of time talking to employees explaining the change and really having an open door where you feel comfortable talking to them, and folks appreciate that. It might be nice if the DRG leadership team spends more time with employees to have... these conversations, but the online quarterly town halls also work. Compensation could be higher, but the work-life balance, great colleagues, great benefits, and great programs help balance that out.

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in employees both in compensation and development. Employees want to stay here, so the majority of the battle is already won!

I have been working at Millennium Research Group full-time

    Pros

Good location downtown Toronto, young work environment, flexible hours with option to work from home on occasion, good work-life balance, management willing to work with schedules.

    Cons

Poor compensation, largely independent work, low business growth meaning relatively few opportunities for advancement, leadership opportunities are few and far between. The low starting wage for analysts was previously justified by quarterly salary raises, however these have since been terminated with no corresponding salary adjustments.

    Advice to Management

Provide competitive compensation (>50k starting) to retain expertise and reduce employee turnover.

I worked at Millennium Research Group full-time

    Pros

Great opportunity for new grads in healthcare/market research/consulting. youthful/friendly culture and your colleagues become great connections in the future. location (downtown core) is great.

    Cons

some issues with long hours, comparatively low pay, slow growth (in terms of promotion), and micromanagement.

    Advice to Management

analysts need to be valued in order for the company to retain and nurture true talents. sales teams and analysts should be valued equally and analysts should get more opportunities to interact directly with clients rather than be shielded by them by sales/managers.

I worked at Millennium Research Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

My teammates were truly amazing. The analysts were great too.

    Cons

There doesn't seem to be any accountability in this company, and it seems to be especially true of senior management. From what I can tell all the senior managers have come up from within the company and have little to no knowledge of standard best practices, how to build a business, inspire employees, etc. This company is caught in a vicious circle that I don't think it will get out of

    Advice to Management

Bring in external talent at the senior level. Leverage their knowledge of the industry, etc. to bring stability and reliability to the company.

I have been working at Millennium Research Group full-time

    Pros

Analysts are a good group of people and fun to be around.

    Cons

Where's the direction? Where's the development? Sales underperformance is always attributed to the product and not to sales/marketing/product management efforts. Analysts are always leaving because our work isnt appreciated and the salaries reflect this.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue. Try bringing in some experienced managers instead of a bunch of former analysts with no management experience.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Millennium Research Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The people are generally young, energetic and fun

    Cons

If you want your reports to have credibility a significant amount of unpaid overtime (evenings/weekends) will need to be worked. The compensation is flat and the focus is on pumping out reports and only minimal improvements on past reports on made in some cases.

    Advice to Management

Provide better opportunities for advancement and harness the creativity and talent of your hires. A lot of smart people work at this company, however, they are pigeon-holed into report writing etc. Focus on quality of your data (ie # of data sources), it is not acceptable in many instances.
