Get exposed to client work pretty quickly
Can work your way up if you are willing to go the distance

You might end up doing client work while you are still learning the product

    Advice to Management

Better work-life balance needs to be promoted
Compensation schemes could be made more transparent
Should not let the informal culture go under the rug

I have been working at MillenniumIT full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Shuttle service provided for employees(Otherwise no one will come to work here unless he/she is near by)
Sports complex with swim pool (Employees are having a hard time to use it with assigned workload)
Air conditioned and sound proof development area

    Cons

Limiting budget for company activities has raised lots of concerns. Some of them includes not providing paper cups for drink tea/water, reducing number of hours of AC is running, collecting money from employees for company activites, etc.

Millennium IT(I will use MIT hereafter) "WAS" a reputed company in Sri Lanka when I accepted the job. Due to poor and shot term management strategies, now the company is going down and lots of employees are leaving and planning to leave in near future.
However, management is not taking any action regarding this matter. They do not understand value of an experienced employee who is an expert in technologies used by the company. Due to this huge brain drain, future of the company is blurring.

According to my point of view, MIT management is thinking that the vacant positions can be filled with new employees and company will run successfully. They are not having a better vision and decisions are taken based on their silly plans. They have forgotten that employees must be treated well and taken care of. Instead, company is just expecting a high quality outcome truncating benefits given for employees.

I am not clear about the reason for this change as top board is always saying that company is performing well until it comes to salary increments.

MIT "HAD" operated in a transparent manner in the past and now it has become a black box(most likely a pandora's box).

I wish the company management will open their eyes and see what is happening inside and use their teeny tiny brains to save this company.

    Advice to Management

Please read all the reviews of this company and take an immediate action to save it

I have been working at MillenniumIT full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice environment, Transport, Gym, and pool.

    Cons

Very low salary range, its like half when compared to industry leads.
No discipline in HR and Higher management.
New recruiters get higher pay than current employees, this will be a disaster.
The company has no future projects and they try to demotivate employees and downsize the company. People are really dissatisfied and they seek for other jobs. Less career growth as company is saturated with older people.

    Advice to Management

Please change HR management. Heads of departments have no powers. If they have no power do not waste huge salary on their positions. And also motivate current employees with higher pay before they leave.

I have been working at MillenniumIT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Looking at the current situation very hard to find pros.

    Cons

Salaries are useless and below market rate, favoured to new engineer graduates and offered higher salaries than current employees (but these new graduates will see the bad side of current employees when they join in 2018), no work life balance, no reward for hard working employees, management and HR are bunch of incompetent people, employees are getting sacked at a rate as a result of frustration, talk to any person inside who has been there fir few years and see they will tell you that they are looking for jobs outside, bonus and increments very low as a result of management not standing for its employees to London management, people leaving at a rate, employees are unclear if the company is about to close down within the next 2 years and so no proper increments and bonus for employees to leave on their own instead of having to pay compensations.

    Advice to Management

Hire quality HR personal, no point paying them and other senior managers big salaries to bend backs to London by cutting costs and loose all employees in Sri Lanka in return. You do plenty of CSR work to keep taxes to a minimum, but don't know to look after your own employees. You have plenty of strategies but no people strategy. Enjoy the final bit of 2017, as the next year is going to be a comedy for us to watch you the management trying to make us stay for your cause.
