    Pros

Great benefits, and great products. Treats manufacturing employees well above average. Pay for assembly workers is low to start, but pretty high after about 10 years.

    Cons

Enterprise strategy is destroying the empowered culture that was prevalent in the past. Becoming a highly micro-managed place to work. The company has a myopic view, and has nearly abandoned long range planning.

    Advice to Management

Trust your people and let them do their jobs. High level management should refocus on the company principles of trust and empower. Good people are leaving because you are not letting them be creative. Instead of trying to improve the stock price today at the cost of tomorrow, develop your talent to drive future growth.

I have been working at Miller Electric MFG full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good incentives for meeting goals, flexible work schedule

    Cons

Unstable work loads, lots of getting moved around to different jobs, little advancement opportunites.

    Advice to Management

Need to provide better compensation for new employees to keep good ones for the future. there's to big a descrepancy between long time employees and new hires to make them want to stay.

I worked at Miller Electric MFG as an intern

    Pros

Great culture. People go out of their way to help you. Excellent management and industry presence. One of the best companies to work for in Wisconsin

    Cons

The intern program is well co-ordinated but I couldn't help feeling that I could have gained a lot more exposure to the different divisions within the company.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

I worked at Miller Electric MFG full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Some challenging projects. Good hours.

    Cons

Manager lies and made poor decisions and played favorites. A good engineer is not necessarily a good manager. Some, clicky, back-stabbing coworkers that think the world revolves around them.

    Advice to Management

Admit the wrong person is manager and make a move.

    Pros

Good employee culture and they produce high quality products - many of them right here in Appleton.

    Cons

They should look to gain a more diverse workforce to bring in ideas. Gain more women leaders.

I worked at Miller Electric MFG as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Miller Electric was an awesome place to grow and learn. I learned a lot and was able to design many fixtures and floor layouts and actually have them built and placed. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help. Floor workers have a sense of pride in what they do which makes the job easier. I would recommend an internship here for any engineering discipline. I would really like to work here full-time in the future.

    Cons

Don't expect to be hired right out of your internship. This is a very large company that just won't open a position for good employees.

I worked at Miller Electric MFG full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Relaxed team environment. Good benefits. Don't try to get every last hour out of you. Can still have a life outside of work if you are salaried.

    Cons

Pay is fair but not great. Limited advancement opportunities for engineers who want to stay technical. Not very defined guide lines for grades of engineers.
