I worked at Miller Transporters full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Relaxed atmosphere . Employees really care that the company succeeds. Open to new technologies to help with logistics. Willing to offer training.

    Cons

Some of the management do not communicate effectively so some things slip through. Be careful of office politics which can get in the way.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the details

I have been working at Miller Transporters full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You have alot of options of work, ie:local, regional, solo & team. As well as lease & o/o. It all depends on what you want to earn. Company drivers get free health Insurance and a nice per diem. Company drivers shoul earn between 50-115k a year, with there per diem included.

    Cons

You have to watch your pay closely & dispatch has changed into a central dispatch instead of letting each terminal take care of there own freight.

    Advice to Management

Payroll, they need to get a new system in place. It should not take 3 weeks to get pay right. Allow terminals to dispatch there own freight first!

    Pros

pros you better be experienced in business. Good for a Co. driver. Good pay, benefits. O/O's be prepared to check location. Been here 5yrs plus but worked in tanking business 21yrs. Be careful CO's will try to make you feel your buying ocean front property in Ariz.

    Cons

bought a truck off Miller. Got it back to term after supposed to been completely check out. Annual inspection was done but had many problems. Still twisting arms to get finished. 15 days in shop 1st 28 days. I am amazed.@ response in Jackson, head quarters.

    Advice to Management

Your word should mean what you say. Don't put lease drivers in such a struggle. Truck should be ready when signing papers not driver getting dot legal and doing the leg work. one of many reasons for to not refer drivers.

    Pros

Good way to learn money management.
    Familiarize yourself with the word"Hole".
The "Hole" is a occurring conversation with your family when you have no money for weeks,or months.Indentured Servitude" Good Move" for Miller,Wrong move for the Driver.

    Cons

Family may go hungry with Tractor Purchase Program. The escrows are 10% of gross revenue, you won't recieve back upon separation;also your last settlement will be kept.

    Advice to Management

Look at Terminal level management and listen to Drivers, we are all in this to suceed.
