I have been working at Miller-Valentine full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I love working at Miller-Valentine. I have been with the company 25 years and have worked with the sales team on and off. I joined the construction team about 15 years ago and still love my job! My responsibilities have grown over the years and that keeps the day to day interesting and challenging. It's great to work with people who depend on you to do your job and trust that you are competent to do your job and don't micro manage what you do.

    Cons

Training programs could be adopted for new hires. I would not mind spending a couple of days working with new hires in administrative positions so that they at least know our marketing standards, etc. I feel that new hires at least need to be exposed to standard practices.

    Advice to Management

    Keep the communication flowing.

I have been working at Miller-Valentine full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Quality, safety and client satisfaction rule our world at Miller-Valentine. We're allowed to take on responsibility as fast as we can handle it.

    Cons

Communication could improve but overall, this is a great company. I've raised a family while working here and my co-workers are like family.

    Advice to Management

Continue to value Associates as your greatest asset.

I have been working at Miller-Valentine full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Just started but from what I can see they really care about their employees.

    Cons

Nothing I can see yet but I'm sure there is something, no place is perfect and if it was that would be pretty boring!

    Advice to Management

Just keep caring and communicate both positive and negative feed back to encourage growth

I have been working at Miller-Valentine full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Associates have opportunities to learn and grow in their position; management works hard but always takes time for fun conversation and a chance to share a moment; an executive team that takes time to update Associates on the status of the company; on-going efforts to make Associates feel appreciated and offer options to participate on a variety of committees.

    Cons

Separated from each other by floors and walls

    Advice to Management

Continue to encourage Associates to take advantage of opportunities away from their desks -- Associate lunches, Associate meetings, etc. We need to enjoy laughing with each other as much as we enjoy working with each other.
