I worked at Million Air (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place to work as a pilot with a strong safety culture. Strong support from the charter office.

    Cons

Most planes are on certificate are owned by private companies. Not uncommon. The Captain ruined my experience with the company and left me no choice but to leave.

Management doesn't work 40 hours a week (excluding line managers)
Never have I been with a company where MANAGEMENT IS RARELY THERE. Isn't the point of being in management to LEAD? At the bare minimum, commit your 40 hours. They are paid too much for barely being there, dock them and give that money to the people who are the front line- the CSR's who do everything. So much gets dumped on them how can you pay them so little.

Also you basically do Hertz's job for them for free. Heard CSR's used to get paid commission from Hertz but somehow that money got taken away. No surprise.

CSM doesn't train properly. Can't remember the last time I heard a CSR say "I was fully trained and ready the day my manager let me work the desk alone." Everyone I worked with wanted to quit. You will find yourself working alone on busy days and on those days you can forget about eating lunch or having a bathroom break. Also expected to wear heels the entire shift with a full face of make up.

Also HEAVEN FORBID YOU MAKE A MISTAKE. If you make a mistake, believe me accounting will hunt you down and expect an explanation. On days you are working the desk alone, you are going to make mistakes and when you are so burned out from work and you have the accountant point out every mistake... incredibly tiresome and unnecessary. This ties in with the CSM for not properly training as well. However, both of them get paid to fix mistakes so instead of playing FBI and "whodunit" fix the mistakes and move on. I'm sorry if that means you can't stick with your 25 hour week. If management was there to answer questions don't you think there would be less mistakes??? Also the mistakes 90% aren't huge. If something really affected accounting it's understandable but I can't tell you how many small mistakes were pointed out to me. Instead of "thank you for working 50 hours this week" it's "why on this day did you charge this customer under this name?" Or something else minuscule.

The CSM has a company pay for a phone and guess what? It was rare to be able to reach her on it. Go figure.

Never rewarded for hard work or a job well done.

    Advice to Management

Check in with the Tallahassee location. High turnover and last I checked every CSR there wants to quit. Hope you care enough about your employees to do something about it.

    Pros

Easy work, lots of diversity, very little management involvement

    Cons

Company is on COD for 90% of vendors, management is impossible to work with, employees with no motivation, very little support equipment that works as originally intended.

    Advice to Management

Pay your bills on time. Inspire your employees. Hold people responsible for their actions. Hold Quality to a standard that is realistic.

    Pros

It's an exciting and fun environment to work in. The general aviation side is dynamic and can go from a relatively slow day to an all out crazy one.

    Cons

Unfortunately although the pay just increased an entire dollar for new hires the pay increase for those caught in the middle of seniority suffer causing some disgruntled employees.

    Advice to Management

Discipline the workers that keep crossing the line. Many times the line is crossed and instead of corrective action the line is moved again.

    Pros

Great company to work for. Knew nothing about aviation and walked out a pro. The team at the SB location was awesome.

    Cons

Worked for a franchise location not run by corporate. Owner was a crook and location ended up being raided and closed because of investigation.

    Advice to Management

Know who you are franchising with! Our owner ruined a beautiful location with his shady business.

I worked at Million Air (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free cookies ( after management had left of the day) and making strong contacts in the aviation industry. Made great relationships with my co workers (excluding management).

    Cons

where to begin... very sexist of the female CSRs, required to ALWAYS wear makeup, heels, hair professionally salon done every day or you get written up. if you pose a threat to management they will set you up and fire you....... even though you don't have any write ups. It hasn't just happened to me but several other people. No matter what you do it will NEVER be good enough. Management has unrealistic expectations for a low paying job. Forced overtime, yet scolded for having overtime. Got into my personal life and scolded for private affairs even though it didn't affect my work. Constantly accused of other's mistakes. Constantly changing rules to fit the current manger's mood. The list goes on and on, the Management was and always will be the problem.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire ex porn stars, and expect them to be great management material. For the work load you dump on the CSR's there NEEDs to be a raise or better pay structure. For the owners I would as that fully research you managers before you hire them because they are what is killing your company. It could also help with the EXTREMELY high turn over!!! Respect the people that do a good job and complement and reward them for a job well done. it goes a long way.
