I have been working at Mimosa Networks full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

I'm as excited about the company as the day I joined. We're reshaping the broadband access business, and it's great to see the direct impact that I can have in the success of our customers. That's why we go to start-up companies, right? The team in engineering is getting better and better all the time, which doesn't always happen as a company grows. I really enjoy my co-workers, and the company facilities are pretty...

    Cons

For awhile, the company was slow to take action on the lower performing employees, which is demotivating for those of us who put in the extra effort and really care about making the company successful. That's changed over the past year though, which some people don't like, but I think has greatly improved the morale in engineering. I'm proud to be part of the team, which I think is world-class.

I worked at Mimosa Networks full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Interesting product. A few cool co workers.

    Cons

Worst executive management I’ve ever experienced. Jame Fink is extremely political, passive aggressive, and sexist. Poor culture comes from the top. Not transparent with employees on core business decisions. Leadership treats employees as disposable assets.

    Advice to Management

Quit and replace yourself with more competent leadership. Stop sinking the ship.

I have been working at Mimosa Networks full-time

    Pros

    - Super nice and helpful people - Very innovative products - Forkable and eatclub are great - Nice office and kitchen

    Cons

Mimosa is definitely not the best company, it could have all the cons that a startup might have. But that's also why people choose Mimosa because we want it to be better

I have been working at Mimosa Networks full-time

    Pros

Nice office, free food, a lot of snacks.

    Cons

-company is running out of money -new products released provide very little value -products are flawed with no fixes imminent -sales are poor due to poor products -engineering department is a disaster -exec staff is insane and crazy -worst decision of your career to ever work here (aside from the fact that every other place you go to will be a godsend)

    Advice to Management

nearly 7 years in the market and $80MM+ in funding with very little to show. goodluck

I worked at Mimosa Networks full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Nice new office and free lunch

    Cons

This is a classic fear-based workplace. The fear based culture was created by the leadership from day 1 and has continued since. Blame rolls downhill to all of the employees and credit bubbles up to the managers. Expect unrealistic deadlines and long nights and weekends of work at all times. Trust me when I say that all the best employees have left and those employees have picked off the rest of the talent in...

Continue to grow Mid Management organically, make the same good decisions we've made with our Upper Management selection.

I have been working at Mimosa Networks full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

I've been working in Mimosa for around 2.5 years. Mimosa is an excellent company for whoever wants to work in a startup. I just wanted to write up my experience here upon seeing some unfair comments.  Mimosa is a 6 years old startup which is building very good and innovative products. People here are working hard to make this happen. It is all about providing better Internet access through wireless to people. Mimosa...

    Cons

I have been working at Mimosa Networks full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

There are a lot of companies in the valley who have a vision but Mimosa's mission could truly change the world as we know it. I loved coming to work here and felt my work had a purpose. Even as a woman, I felt that I was respected and that my contribution to the company mattered. Management cares about its people and wanted to make us happy. One day we did a team building scavenger hunt and got to run all over the Bay...

    Cons

Like most start ups around here, there can be a few entitled people who are too busy complaining about their choice of company paid for free meals to remember that there is actual work which needs to get done. No company is perfect but seriously, the bad reviews on here surprised me! Let's just say there are good reasons why some people are fired.

    Advice to Management

Don't let the couple of bad eggs ruin a good thing. Stay focused on the big picture and keep doing what you're doing!
