    I worked at MindTouch, Inc.

    Pros

Regardless where you are at in your career path, MindTouch offers ample opportunities to grow while working with amazing companies, and people, across multiple industries. Passion is the underlying fuel of MindTouch and it has continually pushed the company year after year to new opportunities in the market.

    Cons

There aren't any cons that stand out as a deterrent to working at MindTouch. I worked there a long time and everyday wasn't rosy, but overall I enjoyed my experience and have no regrets.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at MindTouch, Inc.

    Pros

The administrators who work there are a joy, the employees are brilliant, the office is pristine and they have a great arcade room. The proximity to Little Italy and the Gaslamp quarter make it a good location for meetings and work.

    Cons

Parking is a little difficult for Downtown San Diego, the Air Conditioning is turned on all day, everyday; and the buildings doesn't have enough bathrooms.

    Advice to Management

The company should invest in a company lavatory, as the whole floor shares the lavatory, it is frequently backed up, in more ways than one.

I have been working at MindTouch, Inc.

    Pros

Everyone is super nice and passionate on what they do. Catered lunch on Mondays. Wednesday, and Fridays. Collaborative team. Approachable managers, execs...

    Cons

In some aspects of the company -- there needs to be some sort of structure/process. But it's understandable since it's a growing company.

Thanks for your feedback. Please grab me and let me know where it feels...errr...too fluid and in need of some more structure. I know the answer is probably in more than one place since we've grown quickly, but I'd like to learn where you think it's most irritating. Again, thanks.

I have been working at MindTouch, Inc. full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you love what you do, then this is the place for you. I've worked at companies big and small, and this is the first place where I truly felt at home. My co-workers are amazing people who care about what they do and treat each other with respect and kindness. There are plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself, learn new things, and become a better version of yourself. Management is a easy to work with and they...

Downtown parking isn't always easy, though the company does offer a partial parking reimbursement.

    Advice to Management

It may have been rocky in the past, but you have turned that around and made sure that everybody is heard and appreciated.

I have been working at MindTouch, Inc. full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I love working at MindTouch! MindTouch not only empowers me to be a thought leader but to also strive and make an impact as an agent of change. They help me learn from events if I fail and celebrate when I achieve my goals. We are hyper-focused on building a sound and respectful team in order to collectively innovate and continuously promote success both internally and externally.

    Cons

the biggest con at MindTouch is the parking. I am continuously playing cat and mouse with the cops around here! There is also a lot of really good food which can be a waistline con.

    Advice to Management

Keep adding to your team and keep making sure that your mission and cultural values are clear as the team is charged and ready!

I have been working at MindTouch, Inc.

    Pros

This is not a place if you like predictability and keeping to yourself. After years in a bureaucracy, I switched to working at MIndTouch and it was everything I had hoped. Management is supportive, encouraging, and creative. They also trust in their team and allow for much creative initiative and input. It's a job for real grownups who have ironed out their family issues before they walk in the door -- that is, do not...

Benefits. Lack of 401K matching and childcare savings accounts gave me pause after having those benefits for so many years. Those things matter to a more experienced work demographic and it will not help when recruiting women and people over 30. The demographic is very young and single which can contribute to a little bit of immaturity in group interactions and choices of group activities, but nothing terrible. An HR...

I worked at MindTouch, Inc. full-time

    Pros

Passionate team and leaders, strong opportunity for growth, exciting technology and market, paving their own path. MindTouch values work ethic and people who are passionate and truly want to succeed in their careers. There has been many ups and downs (more ups) since 2007 but the company is truly now set-up for success (financial health, market need, great story and sales process, clear roadmap, solid customer...

I have been working at MindTouch, Inc. full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    1. MindTouch has a great corporate culture and work environment. MindTouchers and prospective MindTouchers consistently cite the atmosphere as a key reason they like being, or desire to be, a MindToucher. 2. MindTouch has a great product that is well differentiated and it is commonly recognized as the industry leader. 3. We have an exciting and well defined vision and mission. MindTouch is helping organizations...

    Cons

The biggest challenge we face is market awareness and buyer education. Not too many know of MindTouch and if you haven't seen what we do it does require a short product tour or a little explanation. This is because we're addressing a green field market. I often refer to what we do as something similar to Cirque du Soleil. Imagine if someone told you that you were going to a circus. However, this circus has NO animals....

I have been working at MindTouch, Inc.

    Pros

product works well but lacks a marketing back bone.

    Cons

organization is in constant flux and turmoil with no clear direction or strategy. Jumping on the 'client success' bandwagon and jibber jabber marketing talk that does not match the true strength of the technology. Organization lacks truth and individuality and is losing its competitive advantage and differentiation with marketing speak that does not align to its core strengths. Customers are confused.

    Advice to Management

Maintain the talent you have left ..you are losing your best people for all the wrong reasons. Refocus your message. You are heading down a path for the masses in a highly competitive market.

I have been working at MindTouch, Inc. full-time

    Pros

    * The product works and customers buy it - they also come back and renew. Not going out of business any time soon. * Blameless engineering and operations culture (post mortems are constructive). * Pinball, nerf guns, friendly office culture, catered lunches. * Salaries have improved dramatically + Stock option grants. * Very open financial details, very competent COO. * Simple management structure (very flat). *...

Thanks for your feedback. You advice has been incorporated into the PTG meeting. I think we've come a long way on this front over the last year. Bjorg and Birkfeld have done a great job, imo, on this front. Do you agree?
