I have been working at MindTouch, Inc. full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Mindtouch is full of intelligent, positive people who really believe in the product and want to make it the best it can be. The culture fosters learning, growth, and fun.

    Cons

The only con I can think of doesn't really apply to me. Since the location is down town the parking situation isn't great but MindTouch reimburses its employees for a monthly trolley pass so I don't need to worry about it.

    Advice to Management

Keep the culture going as it is through this period of growth.

I have been working at MindTouch, Inc.

    Pros

MindTouch is a great place to learn, be challenged, and grow in the software engineering field. From day one I have been exposed to new technologies and challenges that have been extremely rewarding as I love to learn. The team at MindTouch has a healthy mix of people (cultural background and age). All of my co-workers are very talented individuals who are constantly willing to share knowledge, collaborate, and even...

    Cons

Not everything is rosy, currently the company is growing a lot and space is tight until we find a bigger office space in the next few months. The onboarding process is a work in progress and the first few weeks can feel a little daunting as you discover all the different presses. The rooms could have better names that are easier to remember.

    Advice to Management

Continue to work on fostering collaboration and communication between all different teams to work as cohesive units. This needs to be a priority as the company continues to grow.

I have been working at MindTouch, Inc. full-time

    Pros

MindTouch has some of the most talented and passionate people. I enjoy coming to work everyday primarily to learn from my coworkers and build something great together. In the last few years there has been large focus on personal development, and team work. This has helped streamline the workplace into a very productive and innovative environment. MindTouch also is great about growing talent from within rather than hiring....

    Cons

Not a lot of benefits, though there is the prospect of that changing. Salaries can be on the low side, but highly depends on case-by-case basis.

    Advice to Management

Keep growing from within, the people here are passionate and smart. Let's get a clear, forward-looking roadmap going.

I have been working at MindTouch, Inc. full-time

    Pros

    * The product works and customers buy it - they also come back and renew. Not going out of business any time soon. * Blameless engineering and operations culture (post mortems are constructive). * Pinball, nerf guns, friendly office culture, catered lunches. * Salaries have improved dramatically + Stock option grants. * Very open financial details, very competent COO. * Simple management structure (very flat). *...

    Cons

    * Nurturing and fostering internal development ideas and technology or features has been a mixed bag. Its historically been difficult to promote your ideas internally. * Expensive downtown parking (they do offset some of the cost, but not all). * Getting something out of engineering and into customer's hands stalls - there are considerable bottlenecks that need to be addressed. * Low engineer count for expected roadmap...

    Advice to Management

    * More data to show why a feature or direction is the right one, no gut feelings or made up stats. * Allow for more company sponsored internal R&D.

Thanks for your feedback. You advice has been incorporated into the PTG meeting. I think we've come a long way on this front over the last year. Bjorg and Birkfeld have done a great job, imo, on this front. Do you agree?
