Listens to employees (eventually)
Jun 1, 2023 - Anonymous Employee in San Luis Obispo, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
* Good work/life balance * A great team - ICs and managers/directors are wonderful to work with and very passionate about what they do * Recently there was a bait & switch scenario where accrued PTO was shifting to unlimited (FTO). A commitment was made to pay out remaining PTO on a certain date but a month before leadership told us it was not going to happen due to financial reasons. With enough push back, leadership listened and changed their stance to pay out half and freeze the other half to be paid out at separation.
Cons
* Some skeletons in the closet of code, but we're working to modernize (that's half the fun!)

Poorly Run Company
May 21, 2023 - Anonymous Employee in San Luis Obispo, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The customers are the only positive at this company.
Cons
This is the most poorly run company I have ever worked for. Some of my work associates have said that they feel this company is well managed. I say they must not have worked for anyone who knew what they were doing. because this management team doesn't have a clue. They underpay staff and then wonder why they have such high turnover. The high turnover lead to inefficiencies in jobs and tasks, since very few really know their jobs because of high turnover. The management is poor at knowing how to allocate its resources to get good results. If they continue on the path they are on they will be out of business sooner than later.

Leadership Doesn't Value Employees or Promises
May 25, 2023 - Anonymous Employee in Los Angeles, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Individual employees are strong. Some teams are great to work with
Cons
Senior leadership is completely tone deaf. All team meetings with rosy outlooks immediately followed by emails saying we need to work on days off, and we don't have enough money to pay out PTO balances that we committed to 10 months ago. The policies are atrocious, and the method of delivery (email, slack) and words used (blame the employees for not taking the PTO) are indefensible. There is so much focus on the short term dollar cost and so little foresight on the impact to the company's most valuable resource: it's employees. These policies will end up costing more money than they save, even if the only thing they care about is money they're making the wrong choice.

Pros
Individual contributors are smart and try hard - I left is the best pro
Cons
- who in their right mind thought a rash CEO who works off his spur of the moment rage would be a good fit is beyond me - customers rightfully hate MindBody because it’s the worst software I have ever seen - employees get blamed for resources that are unavailable for them to do their job - competitors in the space are doing amazing and customers should continue to move to them because of how ahead in the space they are

Unfair Pay, new CEO seems to be a disaster
May 25, 2023 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great company culture and team members. There was, for the most part (and more so before the layoffs in October) a good work/life balance and I never was overly stressed about work and I could take days off and sick days and not be worried about it. Lots of days off as well.
Cons
Ever since layoffs and new CEO, who at first seemed to be a great change that the company needed, things had gone very downhill. CEO sent out a company-wide email, clearly a spur of the moment/angry written email, saying that our "wellness days" (Days that he claimed were meant to be once a month for us to log off, detach from work and focus on ourselves and wellness) were actually NOT meant to be days off and that we should all still be available, reachable, checking slack/email EVERY day of the week. Even weekends. That is not a job or company that values work/life culture and that I did not want to work for. Now, I recently left the company before this next CEO failure of taking away the PTO payout promise July 1 since we would officially switch over to an unlimited PTO plan collectively, but 5 weeks from that July 1 date he sent out another company wide email basically saying jk! thats too expensive! Not sure how he wasn't EXPECTING and didn't know the cost MB would incur from doing this, since everyone stopped accruing PTO January 2023. It completely screwed over employees who have not been taking off any time this entire first half of the year in order to get their PTO payout July 1 and now are sh*t out of luck and have 5 weeks to use as much as they can and still leaving many with many hours unaccounted for and will essentially just go to waste. The entire ELT team now seems chaotic, unprofessional, and the new CEO acts on emotions and makes rash decisions instead of actually thinking anything through. Glad I left when I did.

May 31, 2023 - Manager, Marketing in San Luis Obispo, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Maybe not many "pros" anymore. But there were wonderful, passionate and smart co-workers there at one time. Literally some of the best people ever.
Cons
The company has struggled to bounce back from covid challenges. They are a legacy platform and many competitors are just better. It is tough to see how the company continues to grow.
