I have been working at Mindshare full-time

    Pros

-Great coworkers and friends who work here
-Emphasis on innovation and industry leadership makes it a good place to learn

    Cons

-Company growth and expansion is valued far above individual employees, bringing them to the point of burnout
-Lack of care for employees in positions with understaffed teams, low support or poor work/life balance
-Loss of sense of community and culture

    Advice to Management

The Chicago office used to have a fantastic sense of culture. There were leaders who truly fought for the idea that by caring for people and putting them first, you can get great work from your employees. This really showed and brought out the best in the people who work here. Recently, new leadership has been brought in who instead emphasize hierarchy and create a toxic environment to work in. Management needs to work to bring back a positive workplace and show greater care for the people doing the work that keeps this company going.

    Pros

    - Peers are amazing
     - Opportunity to learn
     - collaboration across teams

    Cons

    - Company Growth is placed above talent
     - there is literally no space to put people
     - I was told the company culture was the best part when coming over, however, i feel culture is lacking
     - Mid-management roles are scarce
     - Sr. Leadership doesn't lean in, or provide leadership due to "other priorities"
     - lack of accountability

    Advice to Management

    - Pay attention to your employees
     - trust and make action on feedback
     - get a bigger office

I have been working at Mindshare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Really good people who work extremely hard and are passionate about their job and the industry

    Cons

Culture has been completely lost in the past 12 months. While the agency has grown in terms of new clients and business, it has been at the expense of the employee experience and company culture.

    Advice to Management

Get a bigger office- people sitting on top of one another is not a healthy work environment. Something needs to be done to demonstrate to employees that they're not just churning out work with no reward or feeling valued. The agency has gotten too big too fast and turnover will become a problem.

    Pros

    -Great Co-Workers
    -Innovative and Progressive Work

    Cons

    -Questionable Leadership Choices
    -Less focus on Culture

    Advice to Management

Specifically for the Chicago Office, leadership and HR need to be more in touch with the employees doing all the dirty work that goes unrecognized. Mindshare was the best agency I worked at because of these people, and the culture that some former leaders have helped create. In the past year, I saw this start to change as the focus was on growth and not about the people. There have been some questionable leadership movements, and the morale is very low with old co-workers I've spoken to.

    Pros

There are nice work perks and vacation allotments.

    Cons

Work perks don't make up for lack of salary and position growth. The office is bureaucratic and political. It's hard to move up quickly.

    Advice to Management

Get to know your employees and take care of them.

    Pros

Awesome people, smart thinking. I've met some of my greatest mentors, peers and friends here.

    Cons

The smaller accounts don't get nearly the resources that bigger accounts get, even if we need them. This makes growing your career harder if you're on one of those smaller accounts.

    Advice to Management

Make sure everyone is taken care of, not just the star accounts.
