I worked at Miniluxe full-time for more than a year

    Pros

40% off retail Free services if you can get in

    Cons

Horrible horrible management at almost every single location. They have 0 communication skills at all. If you do something wrong instead of coming to you and coaching you through it they are so quick to make accusations and punish you for them. Punishments include talking about what you did to everyone and their mother, for nail techs moving them to the back of the book so they get less clients than everyone else, cutting...

    Advice to Management

Do your job? Run the store and don't let it fall on everyone else who works there without any proper instruction. Stop being petty you guys are supposed to be leaders! If you don't like something that someone is doing HAVE A CONVERSATION. I know the majority of you cringe at the thought of actually talking to your employees and would rather hide behind the front and make us look like the bad guys, but that's exactly why...

I worked at Miniluxe full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Easy job to do Schedule flexibility (if staffing is available) Nails And Waxing Discount Discount on Products Room for Internal Growth

    Cons

Management does not look at their employees as individuals. They pretend to have a company culture that is friendly when hiring but in reality there are so many problems with diversity. Only cares about making their goal so they can get their bonus Front desk is put in a position where they are the middle man between management and nail techs. In return people who are managers hide behind front desk and make them out...

    Advice to Management

Maybe you should know who you hire before you upset the wrong people who do have connections with known names in town. Also be careful in a town like Boston where word gets around extremely fast with about bad business practices. Miniluxe is doomed for failure. With rifts constantly going on between corporate policies and nail techs you are creating not only a hostile employee environment but also an uncomfortable...

I worked at Miniluxe full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. Unlimited services are a perk. Amazing coworkers that like what they do and work well together. Very clean and organized environment.

    Cons

Serious disconnect between management and staff. Consequences are only in effect when management feels threatened, not right when rules are broken. Favoritism and racism runs rampant through management staff.

    Advice to Management

    Get retrained.

I worked at Miniluxe full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Free services, literally that IS IT! Yet if you are a waxer or nail tech you barely have the time schedule anything because of how your manager schedules you to work. Also if you walk in and a customer comes in after you they will make you wait when you did walk in first, that's not fair at all.

    Cons

Everything else, Management communicates when they want to, they don't care to help you grow within the company they just want you to do the job and half their job and not pay you for doing manager duties. You literally open/close a store by yourself, count money, process deposits, count inventory, manage other employees, oversee the store and get paid only 13 dollars, free services is not worth being taken advantage...

    Advice to Management

Honestly, just end your company since you won't succeed, but if you really want to try, invest in your employees, stop opening new stores when you can invest more in the stores you already have, stop hiring new people to be studio directors when you can train the people you hire everyday to do the job they already know how to do and get underpaid for it, fix your employees emails since they all do not work, communicate...

I worked at Miniluxe part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Free Services (nails and waxing) - Exposure to great clientele - Improving personal skills

    Cons

    - Class warfare between the designers and the front desk staff. All of the designers speak in native language and gang up against other employees - Poor communication from senior management - Poor pay for the amount of responsibility that you have - Super understaffed so impossible to get a shift covered if something comes up. - Sub-par and out of date technology.

    Advice to Management

Improve the bullying in your studios between the designers and the other staff members no one should feel that unsafe at work. Get better at communicating with staff and potentially improving your technology could help you there. None of the systems speak to each other we had one system for scheduling and another for payroll and another for benefits. It's way too much to manage, especially as a part time employee.
