I have been working at Miniluxe full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Miniluxe is that company that thinks they are the best at what they do but are so off based. The CEO doesn’t have a clue about customer service and how to retain good clients. Upper management is basically non existent, they are never in the store at all probably grabbing lunch somewhere. They leave decision making to whoever is in the store. I guess the only pro is you get a half an hour lunch break and the technicians...

    Cons

Pick your poison. CEO- clueless Management- lazy and inept Staff- Ok I guess. Trust me people if you want to grow in a company and feel like you are at a place that’s truly rewarding please don’t come here and look at their reviews- Awful!

    Advice to Management

There is no management no advice to give. This company is terrible.

I worked at Miniluxe full-time for more than a year

    Pros

40% off retail Free services if you can get in

    Cons

Horrible horrible management at almost every single location. They have 0 communication skills at all. If you do something wrong instead of coming to you and coaching you through it they are so quick to make accusations and punish you for them. Punishments include talking about what you did to everyone and their mother, for nail techs moving them to the back of the book so they get less clients than everyone else, cutting...

    Advice to Management

Do your job? Run the store and don't let it fall on everyone else who works there without any proper instruction. Stop being petty you guys are supposed to be leaders! If you don't like something that someone is doing HAVE A CONVERSATION. I know the majority of you cringe at the thought of actually talking to your employees and would rather hide behind the front and make us look like the bad guys, but that's exactly why...

    I worked at Miniluxe full-time

    Pros

Free services, met a diverse group of beauty driven technicians

    Cons

Lack of support from upper management, there was no employee empowerment or ability to be creative for the company in regards to marketing or sales. A company that prides itself on being distinguishingly different from other nails salons but only provide mediocre work to underpaid staff with overpriced services. Upper management is careless and unhelpful, only helping themselves with no support from an actual HR.

    Advice to Management

File for bankruptcy already or hire a real HR team to support the staff that work so hard in the front line.

I worked at Miniluxe part-time for more than a year

    Pros

40% off retail. Free services but only if you go in before or after your shift. If you don’t have time to get your services done on the days you’re working then you get 40% off instead.

    Cons

-No breaks! -If you have to pay for parking they will not reimburse you. And if it’s meter parking, you don’t always get a chance to refill it if the store is busy. It’s not worth the parking tickets. -If you’re hired for the front desk, you’re expected to act like a manger without the pay or title of manager. If there’s a difficult client who is unsatisfied with their service, the client services associate is the...

    Advice to Management

Allow the CSAs to be considered managers. At least it would be a good resume builder for college students when they look for jobs after graduation. Don’t expect so much when paying a low wage. CSAs can easily steal from the registers without being caught whether it be by comping a service paid in cash along with other ways. However, I truly believe it would happen less if you treated them fairly bc they’d care more...

I worked at Miniluxe part-time for less than a year

    Pros

All I can honestly think of is the free services and flexible schedule, and that is due to lack of customers!

    Cons

Management plays favoritism, immature, and unprofessional. Management talks down and belittles staff. If you try to talk to someone higher up about it you are COMPLETELY ignored. You are treated like you have no lives outside of a nail salon! They hire you with experience than want to micromanage you.

    Advice to Management

Find managers that know how to talk and respect their employees. They are there to set the morale of the salon. You can be a good manager without being rude to your staff.

    Pros

Easy job to do Schedule flexibility (if staffing is available) Nails And Waxing Discount Discount on Products Room for Internal Growth

    Cons

Management does not look at their employees as individuals. They pretend to have a company culture that is friendly when hiring but in reality there are so many problems with diversity. Only cares about making their goal so they can get their bonus Front desk is put in a position where they are the middle man between management and nail techs. Advice to Management

Maybe you should know who you hire before you upset the wrong people who do have connections with known names in town. Also be careful in a town like Boston where word gets around extremely fast with about bad business practices. Miniluxe is doomed for failure. With rifts constantly going on between corporate policies and nail techs you are creating not only a hostile employee environment but also an uncomfortable...

I have been working at Miniluxe full-time

    Pros

Great company to move up the ladder as long as you put in the effort. Flexible hours especially for the beauty industry. There's so many locations that you are bound to be able to work close to home without much of a commute.

    Cons

Opens really early so if your not a morning person don't do an opening shift.

I worked at Miniluxe full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay, free services, clean environment, friendly coworkers, located continently near t stations, health and dental insurance available for full time

    Cons

No breaks for front desk ever which is illegal shifts are 6 hours+ always standing but they want you to wear cute shoes that aren’t supportive, management never around, entitled clients.

    Advice to Management

To avoid a high turnover rate you probably want to be around more. Nobody wants to work for a boss who is never there. Maybe you should make studio directors hourly so they will actually work instead of coming to their studio on occasion. Develop a program that promotes growth
