I have been working at Miniso full-time

    Pros

Co-workers were fun to work with. The environment is fast-paced and you don't get stuck doing one task. Products are cute and affordable.

    Cons

Complaints are ignored. Schedules are messed up. Upper management didn't know how to operate register and troubleshoot. Inventory sucked but we still get yelled at for doing poor in sales by upper management. Little to no benefits and no holiday pay. They have too many communication methods. Figure out which one you want to use...

    Advice to Management

Don't expect people to respect you when you don't respect them. Don't toss new employees onto the floor and expect them to know what to do when they have yet to be trained. Stop with the ineffective quick solutions, try to fix the source of the problem. Hire an overnight team to complete go-backs, inventory, and layout changes. It's impossible to complete during opening hours.

    I worked at Miniso full-time

    Pros

    Cute products...that’s about it

    Cons

Upper Management doesn’t know what he is doing. He thinks he knows everything but he doesn’t even have retail experience in the US. He tries to brainwash people but his logic doesn’t make any sense. He wants to run the business like #china but it’s not China here. There’s rules and regulations that we have to follow. He doesn’t appreciate his employees. He thinks that people...

    Advice to Management

HQ needs to step in and restructure the company. Hire experienced people and actually learn to appreciate people’s background and experiences.

I have been working at Miniso part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Co-workers are great, Busy, Fun for me that is

    Cons

Upper Management seems like they don't know what they're doing, poor hours, stockroom is a hazard

    Advice to Management

Consider a possible over night team to fix and organize the stockroom and sales floor, instead of hiring 10+ people and giving them only 5-10 hours a week hire 8 people so it can be 2-3 people per shift with 6+ hour shifts. Then each person can have 3-4 days a week. I'm not sure about that math but don't hire over 10 people when you open a store unless it's a big store.

I worked at Miniso full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Nothing. Maybe just for some experience.

    Cons

When I first started, they were still building their team in Toronto, so maybe things have changed and improved. However, based on updated reviews, it seems like nothing has even changed. I started in November 2017 and they hired me after 20 minutes of my interview. That was already sketchy as it seems like they are desperate. Boss only speaks mandarin and does not understand any English, so there is a big language barrier....

    I worked at Miniso full-time

    Pros

Great potential for Canadian market hence creating a lot of work opportunities.

    Cons

Upper management - VP, CFO, Director literally have no clue about Retail business in general. No experience (hired primarily because of proficiency in speaking Chinese). Constantly making poor decisions harming the business in thousands of dollars and running it into bankruptcy. Have no concept of managing a team and setting goals with strategic plans. They need to fire all management...

I have been working at Miniso full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The coworkers are understanding and also hates the company just as much as you do.

    Cons

Everything. I'm not exaggerating when I say everything. Upper management doesn't care about employees, they just want everything done ASAP and don't think about deadlines or the working day. If the store is open from 10 AM - 9 PM, and there are only two workers that day who are already working overtime, they still expect you to do price changes/updates/reorganizing the display...
