I worked at Minnesota Resource Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    RESOURCE did have excellent benefits

    Cons

Unfortunately, there was not a lot of support from management as far as listening to new ideas and issues with other staff

    Advice to Management

Fortunately, I was able to advance but did not feel appreciated or thanked very often for my hard work and/or leadership when I was in the management role

    Pros

Assisting individuals with barriers to employment with stepping towards self sufficiency. Developing relationships with businesses and employers. Gain skills that will benefit you later in your career, especially if you are entry level.

    Cons

The pay is low and the atmosphere is tense at times. This organization has laid a number of people off in the last few months, and continues to struggle financially.

    Advice to Management

Provide your employees with better tools to contribute to more successes. Have a database of contacts so that your department does not have to start from scratch each time an employee leaves the company.

    Pros

It was a hard job that paid you well for the work that they required of you. The staff was almost like a second family.

    Cons

The work was extreme and never ending. A raise would have been helpful in order to make for happier staff.
