I worked at Minster Law full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Good training and learning resources
    - Reasonable salary scales

    Cons

    - Senior management level and above are not fit for purpose
    - Staff morale very low
    - Micro-management and blame culture
    - Sick pay limited to 8 days on a rolling basis

    Advice to Management

Owned by BGL Group. They should move their personal injury business to solicitors who can make the volume market pay.

    Pros

All fellow employees are very friendly and are always on hand to help whenever it is needed. Line managers are excellent and always very understanding with any problems you may have

    Cons

The only problem I had working at Minster Law was the location, other than that it is a great place to work

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Minster Law full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people on the "shop floor" (I made lots of good friends). Good wages, often slightly higher than rival firms. Good work parties.

    Cons

Extremely high case loads and unmanageable unless you do regular unpaid overtime, not enough support from management, too many targets which cant be achieved in core hours and very VERY micromanaged. Parking is very limited at both sites, you would have to get there before 8.30am and even then you might be pushing it for a space. I was there over 4 years and still have lots of friends who work there and it has not changed. Unless your happy working almost double your core hours, dont mind being micro managed and love the pressure of a high caseload, avoid working here.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people and support them more - they know what it's like to actually do the job and not just sit behind a desk setting targets that are often unrealistic

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Minster Law full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Chance to develop organisational skills
    - Team based set-up, sociable atmosphere
    - Regular feedback from managers on performance and targets

    Cons

    - Work load often high
    - Training of limited utility in fast track department
    - Very micro-managed, which is great and necessary for the company overall, but restrictions to targets/rules etc. means that more talented members of staff are not utilised to greatest effect.
