I worked at Miranda Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The technology and drive to standardize broadcast automation and put it on a platform readily available without tons of third party stuff is exciting and rewarding, particularly if you enjoy finding root cause and seeing fixes as a result of your work.

    Cons

Travel was sometimes heavy but that is to be expected during times of peak sales/implementation. Sometimes being on the leading edge requires methodical resolution to bugs and user issues.

    Advice to Management

Partnerships with large companies from multiple areas of the broadcast realm would be ideal. A broad overview of how different media providers handle daily workflows is super important in developing a robust, all encompassing product.

    Pros

Good place to work, would recommend to anyone and everyone around. They will love it here I promise with all of my heart no doubt in my mind

    Cons

Not many cons. Some people are rude but you are going to get that everywhere. There is nothing you can personally do about it. A good place to work.

I worked at Miranda Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good company culture. Good leadership. They provided product-line cross training. I worked with a very good team of field engineers for the automation product. It was the first time I saw a CEO conduct an employee feedback survey and share the results with the company, and also share a plan of action to address the results of the survey.

    Cons

Field engineer work requires intensive travel.

    Pros

Miranda is a Technology company. there is a friendly working environment. The company sells advanced technology services and products. Work can be satisfying and absorbing.

    Cons

Unfortunately Miranda has a Canadian HQ and there are business divisions in the company, which are not equally resourced. Work in a resource-stacked department. There management structure and meeting calendar, but no follow through.

    Advice to Management

Adoption of lean and agile throughout company is required.

    Pros

It is a well-established company, The work/life balance is good and the work load is reasonable. Project documentation is mandatory and employees can easily access the documentation of current and previous projects. The onsite facilities are pretty good.

    Cons

The company culture is not so open to people with different background If you don't speak french, you are not so welcome in the company. There was some downsizing and re-structuring after being merged with Grass Valley.

    Advice to Management

Rejuvenate teams by hiring new people from versatile ethnics and backgrounds. In order to keep the environment more exciting, it would be more efficient if different groups communicate with each other with better attitude.

    Pros

Hardware products are great e.g cards and routers. President knows the inside out of the company and the competition. Well located own building and free parking.

    Cons

Software components interfacing with hardware could be improved along with the training process.
Salary lower than average on the market.

    Advice to Management

Company is doing great financially but it seems targets are never met. Why?

    Pros

Very strong company in the broadcast field, nice benefits and vacations, social events, nice people too.

    Cons

Salary is not very fair, sometimes a new person with very low experience in the field can start with a much higher salary that a person with several years of experience in the company and a lot of studies.

    Advice to Management

give more value to those people with more than 5 years inside the company, is a experience that would take years to be replaced even for the most qualified new employee.
