    I have been working at Mirbeau Inn & Spa part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Beautiful spa located in Plymouth , MA. Clean environment , wonderful members and spa guests.
    Everyone is happy because they are at a spa.

    Cons

    I have not encountered any negatives to working here. Staff is nice and helpful, fellow teachers are supportive and team players

    Keep up the good work

    I worked at Mirbeau Inn & Spa part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Co-workers and supervisors usually helped with rooms if you were finished. You could pick up extra hours in the laundry if you wanted them.

    Cons

    It isn’t a difficult job but the laundry is often heavy and hard to carry. Often had to stay late to help others or stock closets. I was rarely out of there on time.

    Advice to Management

    Treat employees with respect.

    Pros

    Beautiful location, coworkers are generally pleasant

    Cons

    Managers are nice but incompetent in dealing with difficult situations with guests, passing responsibility onto lower level employees who are underpaid

    Advice to Management

    Pay lower level employees better, be more supportive of employees in difficult situations

    Pros

    It is a spa so the perks of receiving discounted services is pretty much it.

    Cons

    1. Inconsistent scheduling after you've provided your availability.
    2. Never any follow up to your questions.
    3. Commission structure (for boutique products sold) never fully explained.
    4. Commission only received once out of 3 months worth earned.
    5. Management extremely unqualified and avoids accountability. Often blames staff for issues not within staff's control.
    6. Blatant favoritism
    7. Enrollment for benefits offered only within first 60 days of your hire date.
    8. Communication and consistency is absolutely non existent between management and employees.
    9. Provides guests with conflicting information often leading to disappointing experiences.
    10. Disorganized with confidential paperwork.
    11. Resistant against holding staff meetings and when done, only covers basic topics such as the locations working hours and does not encourage staff engagement.

    Advice to Management

    Utilize your real employees. You may have wonderful employees who can help your business grow substantially because they are more qualified than the figure heads you currently have in place.

    Your turnover would drastically decrease if you empowered your team and led by example.

    Stop misleading the guests who spend money for a luxurious pampering experience by exposing them to unhygienic practices.

    The property itself is amazing, though it is rapidly approaching the need for serious renovation.

    Cons

    Positions are grossly under paid for the quality of work they want. The owners, particularly the wife, treat the staff despicably.

    Pros

    Good vacation time.
    Spa & F&B perks.
    Property managers (especially Skaneateles) are wonderful.
    Beautiful grounds and atmosphere.

    Cons

    The owners are selfish and wretched.
    Extremely poor communication from the owners and management team.
    Owners, CEO and Partner are prone to selfish and petty bickering, finger-pointing, and are just plain unreasonable.

    Advice to Management

    With the exception of rooms/reservations in the management team, step back and let the managers and employees do their jobs.
