    Pros

somewhat ok pay for vietnam market, Sonny is a pretty good CEO who realized that the company is going no where, hence tricking Fossil into buying it

    Cons

Christy Trang Le (CFO, COO) is the worst person ever to work with: no management experience yet demand extreme loyalty of everyone she works with Looking back, the fact that CEO hire his wife as CFO should have been a big no no

Best career opportunity of my life

    Pros

I was able to do more at Misfit than I would have at any other company and take on a huge amount of responsibility and leadership. I've learned a lot and I really love the people I work with.

    Cons

Be ready to work hard. If mandatory social events are your thing, then you may be disappointed—but there are plenty of fun get-togethers folks plan on their own.

Work here will kill your future

    Pros

Startup in BayArea Have free lunch

    Cons

Its CFO will kill the company since she squeezes employees' energy and fire them if they show their opinions she doesn't like. All advertising of this company is lie, they care about face time rather than brain time as advertise. They have illegal teams in Vietnam and China. In Vietnam, its company doesn't have a name since it did not register with the government. The CFO finds any durty cunning to fire employees who she doesn't like. She requests her employee to do her personal stuff like photoshop her daughter's pictures, baby sister, buy food for her family. If they don't wanna do it, getting fire. Many people work ready hard here and finally they would be kicked out by Christy Le.

    Big opportunities, big drawbacks

    Pros

As with any startup, there are many opportunities at Misfit to have a big impact and influence in your line of work. No matter what office you might be in, co-workers are friendly, fun, and intelligent. Culture - As a company, Misfit is lacking it's own unique culture... but most teams seem to develop a culture of their own. There is a real opportunity to do great work at Misfit, but that isn't always an easy task. Often it feels harder than it should to accomplish that great work. Misfit is smart about how it spends money, but at times can be very frugal. Working here requires a great deal of optimism and hard work, and this is reflected by many Misfit Employees in all offices. Working with overseas teams can be a challenging, but rewarding and informative experience.

    Cons

-Sometimes, certain teams feel more segregated from others and this doesn't quite project the sense of "family" that Misfit wants to achieve. When teams are segregated, communication problems arise. -Most employees seems to be somewhere between mildly dissatisfied to deeply upset with the most senior of leadership. While every single decision or action made at the top can't always please everyone, it feels as if some senior leadership has isolated themselves from important and critical feedback. -While Misfit has snacks and lunch/dinner, don't expect a Misfit office to be like most startups. I agree with the philosophy of saving money, but it can turn people away. If a luxurious or even average workspace is what you are seeking, this might not be the place for you. -Turnover seems frequent at times. Retaining top talent seems to be more difficult for Misfit than other places.

Worst professional experience of my life

    Pros

The opportunity to learn from Sonny, the CEO, is world-class. He is a bright visionary and serial entrepreneur who has an uncanny knack for playing the Silicon Valley game. If you get a chance to work him, it is worthy to consider.

    Cons

Unfortunately, Sonny hired talented specialists (e.g., marketing, commercial development, engineering, data science, etc) who served as managers for each business unit within Misfit. Although these managers had excelled previously in their specific functions, they did not have any management experience and often competed directly with their direct reports. As for me, this created a dismal environment that prevented my performance and growth. Also, avoid Sonny's wife at all costs. Also very sharp and charming at first, but there's a long line of people who've been burned. The company has been acquired by Fossil now, so it's a bit better.
