I have been working at Mission Inn Hotel & Spa part-time (More than a year)
Fun environment, nice coworkers, client till is fun to meet, owners help workers out during the holidays by handing out pumpkins, turkeys, and back to school time they are nice enough to buy some supplies for the people with kids. k-12 grade
Hrs during (FOL) festival of the lights, at the spa they increase the hrs one hr earlier and one hr later. Which is great on the weekends but the weekdays it makes for a very long day for the employees. NO days off can be requested during that time, what you are scheduled to work is what you work, parking changes too, it is basically find your own, during those late nights when you get off if you do not feel safe sometimes you can ask for someone to walk you to your car, however they are so busy keeping the people in order they do not have time to walk you.
Getting hired was fast and easy, compared to other companies, which was nice! There are free food and drink in the employee only cafeteria. In most cases, one can get promoted or transferred to a different department if requested (but not in every case that deserves it.)
Unorganized. Some departments don't train new employees. They just drop them in there and expect them to pick everything up their first few days. I don't feel like they do not resolve work related issues very well. They do not promote from within the company as much as they like to boast. Lastly, I have witnessed (and experienced SUBTLE) racial and sexist discrimination while working here.
Advice to Management
Most of the management is great, except for those who choose to be unprofessional (gossiping with employees, not being able to control emotions, etc.) And letting your employees know that you appreciate them goes a long way.
people were very pleasant to work with.
management was all over the place.

I work with some really great people, beautiful environment and plenty of history to share with guests.
do not get paid enough to do all the work my position requires...plus applied and was offered another position, then told it's unlikely it'll be filled....room for growth is to be discouraged.
Advice to Management
they need to keep their word when offering a position to a hopeful candidate and keep their word...kind of feel 'screwed over'....and raise the wage! the current position does not pay enough for all the work that is done.
