I worked at Mission Media full-time

    Pros

Mission is a tight-knit family of motivated individuals. There is a strong work ethic within the company because everyone who works there genuinely wants to see the company succeed.

The clientele is an interesting mix of entertainment, sports marketing and NPOs with a variety of different projects.

If you want to work in an open and vibrant environment that challenges you to do your best work, then this is the right fit.

    Cons

Like most agencies, there are long hours and many lunches that you'll take at your desk. The environment is very open, which is great, but doesn't lend itself to a ton of privacy if it is needed.

I have been working at Mission Media as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Small company
    Great clients
    Great location in city

    Cons

There is no formal internship program

    Advice to Management

Create a formal internship program so that students can learn more in their limited time.

I worked at Mission Media (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Insanely talented staff- good people and a great culture. Respect and autonomy as an employee. Clear paths for advancement. Great location. Flexible management. Casual yet intelligent workplace. Salary/benefits were competitive. Challenging & engaging work that you will be proud of.

    Cons

Can be a bit chaotic. Some difficult clients. Must be able to work in a team (not really a con IMO).

    Pros

Good clients, projects, and that "small company" mentality.

    Cons

Poor benefits, underpaid, too many people involved in major decisions.

    Advice to Management

Try to accept that you are turning into a larger company and treat it accordingly.

    Pros

    - Great accounts to work on, looks great on a resume

    Cons

    - Getting your own paycheck was a hassle, and it was embarrassing when they paid vendors you hired for projects (stylists, photographers, studios) very very late
    - Excessive meetings and conference calls for minute updates

I have been working at Mission Media full-time

    Pros

Culture is excellent and people seem passionate about the work they are doing. The office is very close and often do activities outside of work like the annual beach trip. You will be able to fill your portfolio with lots of interesting projects. It's a great company to start a career. The designers here are some of the best I've worked with.

    Cons

Pay is abysmally low and benefits don't make up for it. Vacation and retirement benefits are severely lacking. Promises are often made by upper management that never seem to materialize. Management of the company seems to be more emotional than pragmatic which leads to disorganization and stressed out workers.

    Advice to Management

Give your employees an incentive to stick around. Pay competitive rates and take a look at your benefits package if you don't want people to constantly be poached by companies with better offers.

I have been working at Mission Media full-time

    Pros

Exposure to management, strong accounts, room for growth and team work. Company events are fun and socially this place is on point

    Cons

At one point overstaffed, but they've made huge steps in the right direction per the staff's feedback.
