I have been working at Missionary Training Center part-time

    Pros

Absolutely loved working here. Aside from studying with the missionaries for a job, there are still a lot of other things that I loved. The people I worked with are some of my best friends still!

    Cons

Limited to 3 years when you are a college student at a 4 year university is a little tough. Luckily they provided other ways to stick around, just not as a teacher for my senior year. Depending on your coordinator, it may not be easy to get time off.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes it can be strict, I understand why at times it needs to be strict, but there were times that I felt a little taken advantage of. My coordinator wasn't very understanding when I wanted to take a weekend off when I hadn't taken a vacation in nearly a year because it was with friends and not family, he guilt tripped me by asking me where my priorities stood. I didn't think that was very appropriate. I'm a college student, and I was a very responsible employee, so I thought it was totally fine. I took the break, and didn't hear about it again, but I didn't like the way that it was handled.

    Pros

Great environment, and the atmosphere was fulfilling.

    Cons

Some what complacent. I would have liked to have more autonomy to teach missionaries according to their individual needs.

    Pros

Being in a classroom with the spirit is amazing! Super rewarding!

    Cons

I don't know how it is for the other areas, but my boss is very hard to work with. He is a very passive aggressive person, and is making me want to find a new job, kind of making this experience which has so much potential to be the best job ever, to something I'm wanting to get out of.

I worked at Missionary Training Center part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working in the mtc is fun because there are lots of international students and it's a great environment.

    Cons

A lot of times there's not much to do but we have to look busy anyway, but it can't be helped because the work is based off of schedules of room usage

    Advice to Management

There's not much to say because it's just a student job, and I think most people do a great job of respecting staff and the buildings themselves.

    Pros

This is one of the most fulfilling jobs you can have. It is hard work, but you will always feel like you are doing something worthwhile.

    Cons

The training for the teachers is fairly rigid. There isn't much flexibility or autonomy for your teaching style.
