I worked at Mississippi State University part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Friendly people, great food, full of southern hospitality. The campus is beautiful. There's a lot of job opportunities for students.

    Cons

High turnover rate (because of student workers) can make it hard to get stuff done. There isn't much in Starkville, it's a small town. But there isn't much in Mississippi in general.

I worked at Mississippi State University part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Energetic and supportive environment. Admin appreciate new ideas and reward hard work and creativity. All staff are students (or staff/faculty) at the university, so administration works hard to accommodate academic needs. Fitness instructors are encouraged to expand on their knowledge and abilities including having certifications all or partially paid for (sometimes includes travel expenses).

    Cons

All staff are students, staff, or faculty of the University. If you do not maintain continual student status, your employment status will end (there are some temporary options). Most positions are only minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

    Pros

Quiet place for research. Living cost is amazingly low compared with what you earn as a professor. Spousing hiring is good.

    Cons

Small college town. Tornado seasons. Ready to teach large-size classes coz the enrollment number is rising up every year.
