    My research advisor is very well liked in the department and gets along great with others.

    Cons

    Some advisors require more out of their graduate students than others and it is hard to know until you arrive.

    Advice to Management

    I have no advice to management about any of this and there are at least twenty words here right now.

    they work around your school schedule most of the time, so it's great for students.

    Cons

    Hard to come by, you need to start looking early and often. when a job does come up, it'll be gone quickly

    As a resident adviser it was a bit time consuming, but that is expected.

    Great University. It pays good compared to similar level universities.

    My time while being TA was tough. Lots of grading work.

    I worked at Mississippi State University full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Research is emphasized, but teaching doesn't take a back seat. MSU has enjoyed tremendous growth lately.

    Cons

    Faculty may not be made aware of big picture university goals. Admin places a great deal more market value on some faculty positions (e.g., Business), while underestimating others (English, History). Salary discrepancies lead to lower job satisfaction and lower retention in some departments

    Advice to Management

    Offer more transparency. Offer adequate support for professors across all disciplines and campuses
