I worked at Missouri Department of Corrections full-time

    Pros

I love my job, great co-workers

    Cons

Terrible administration, pay could be better, offenders have more rights than staff.

    Advice to Management

Give employees a chance to correct a mistake instead of letting them go. You are doing the public a dis-service when you let someone that loves their job go because they make a minor mistake. Also, if you are going to punish someone for breaking policy, it should be a straight across the board shot.
