I have been working at Mitel Networks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Salary is okay, great customer.

    Cons

Director is a micro-manager, doesn't let his subordinate lead, petty on expenses, vacations not approved until a week before vacation, will not allow for advancement, talks down to employees, does not keep his word.

    Advice to Management

upper management should talk to their employees and see what makes us unhappy and see if it can be fixed.

I worked at Mitel Networks part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent salary, Some good people (most of whom are leaving)

    Cons

    Racist, insipid Indian culture.

    Advice to Management

For senior Mitel (in Canada). Take control asap before it all falls away. With the departure of the 2 guys in Dallas imminent, it could all be gone very very quickly.

    Pros

Can barely run it's domestic operation yet continues to swallow up smaller companies, wasting talent, money, people lives, and product. Buy them up, shut them down, move the job to India is their mantra.

    Cons

Some of the best jobs are being moved to Bangalore, India. Racked by RIF's, even in their corporate office in Kanata, Canada.

    Advice to Management

Develop your products in North America.

I worked at Mitel Networks full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I have always viewed my career with Inter-Tel / Mitel as never boring, but rather a fresh challenge each and every day. The technology and company structural changes made me a better employee.

    Cons

The same technology and company structural changes can cause stress, employee survivor guilt and lack of production impacting the entire company.

    Advice to Management

Change is a constant in life and the workplace please keep the human factor in mind as your people are the best resource to effect change.

    Pros

Good Benefits, Excellent work to time off comparison, plenty of work if you want. Since laying off pretty much everyone stress levels have increased.

    Cons

Still after all these years there is a perception of getting laid off. Downsizing IMO has hurt the company as those left are leaned on more. Outsourcing while many companies are doing this only enforces the believe your time is coming. Company seems more concerned about buying other companies and saying they are a growing company making money. Top management is making the money, those in the trenches well.. no so much

    Advice to Management

Really wouldn't matter about any advice, they won't listen

    Pros

Very relaxed friendly environment. I'm a new employee in Reno and it seems like a great opportunity. Everyone I have met is nice, upper management is friendly and caring. I'm shocked to see all the negative reviews.

    Cons

The only downside is temp to hire, but I understand why companies choose this course of action. And the opportunity is worth it.

    Advice to Management

    Stay friendly and humble.

I worked at Mitel Networks full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very few besides some of the great people that still remain.

    Cons

Upper management (VP & up) is only out for themselves. More than once did a year start with no type of compensation plan, yet they paid a draw, and then in mid year once they decided what a fair comp plan was to be if you were not at plan then you had to pay back the draw. Also witnessed and heard of several instances where a rep would over achieve (150%+) and then not be paid out per the agreed plan since it was deemed too excessive of a payout. Average healthcare plan. Saw only a single "merit" increase during my tenure. That was esp frustrating since they would go and hire inexperienced new people at almost twice my salary.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what the employees are saying - you had some of the best and brightest with you that have left since no one in sr. management pays attention. They say they do - but there are very little actions - all words.
