Overall a good employer with a strong senior management team
Mar 11, 2015 - Channel Manager in Newport, WalesRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good benefits package including private medical insurance, death in service, subsidised pension scheme. Generally quite generous salaries. Good senior management structure. Able to influence the business in any position. Left alone as long as you do your job. Some departments under resourced resulting in poor work/life balance.
Cons
Staff turnover fairly low resulting in difficulty to progress when you reach a certain level. Middle management tend to have been in post for a long time and are not progressive and driven.

Not an employee focused organization
Jul 16, 2018 - Anonymous Employee in BangaloreRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
* Flexible work hours and work life balance * Good work exposure if you love challenging work * Multitude of products and solutions provide learning opportunities * Free breakfast and dinner
Cons
* The upper management is aggressive towards making profit and is not sensitive towards employee concerns. * The support departments like HR, Finance and Facilities are not responsive * The HR department does not care for employees and is not approachable * The appraisal takes months and does not translate into anything from the employee's point of view * Archiac tools and processes are followed * Don't expect salary revision for years even if your performance is good. The company profits are not passed on to the employees and the company never makes prodit g during appraisal. * Politics and favouritism is a part of life. The management often turns blind eye and are not seriously concerned

Not a good company to work with
Oct 7, 2019 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Management is good wrt cloud support team. Could not think of pros as of now.
Cons
1. Lacks work culture 2. No work life balance 3. There is no proper process for things designed here. 4. Too much micro management which leads to frustration. 5. Typical call center environment. 6. Management here is more focused on communication rather that how technically sound you are and resolve issues. 7. No fun at work. 8. There is no interaction within the colleagues other than work. 9. No events. No recreational activities. No festival celebrations. 10. Not a happy place to work in.

Pros
1/2 and 1/2 some people are great, other stab you in the back. can't say anything good about the salary. Good holiday schedule and vacation if you are a permanent employee.
Cons
Cons: low pay and hard work. management is ignorant and they don't even understand the job because they are not technical. So many REDUNDANT processes because there data bases and tools are archaic and draconian. Very poor upper management team. In constant fear of being laid off or fired.

Low salary with equally low opportunities for growth
Jul 14, 2022 - Software DeveloperRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good work life balance and flexibility. Friendly, helpful and skilled co-workers.
Cons
Low salary pay. Management does not seem to have vision for the company's future yet and keeps changing priorities every few months.

Disconnect between ELT and rest of staff
May 18, 2021 - Content Strategist in Ottawa, ONRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great place to get experience and longevity Colleagues are driven and want to do a good job Remote work set up is stellar
Cons
Most people are doing the equivalent of three people's jobs Projects are rushed through unnecessarily, causing impossible time crunches Upper management is cliquey and not connected or in tune with what the rest of the company is doing Difficult to achieve work-life balance

If you want to get paid what you earn, DO NOT work at Mitel.
Jan 13, 2015 - Commercial Sales Representative in Plano, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I've been at Mitel for 18 months and would not recommend working here to my worst enemy. I know of three good things: my paychecks don't bounce and my expenses are paid timely and work life balance is easy because there is no accountable for anyone, even for those of us that have asked for it.
Cons
Year end 2014 numbers are coming out and management is already talking to several sales people about not being able to pay them their full commission. This is an old Telco company stuck in the 1990's and most of the Middle Management are men who have been employed by Mitel or a Mitel acquisition on average of 22 years. Forward, out of the box thinking is not in their vocabulary. Management works in a vacuum and does not listen to the expertise of the people they have hired. The Sales Staff across all markets has not been paid correctly since I have been here. Most comp plans come out qtrs after numbers have come in and there is no way to reconcile the numbers.

Management micromanages everything and making progress on designs projects is impossible.
Mar 1, 2015 -RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
They say all the right tings.
Cons
Management micromanages everything and making progress on the simplest of tasks is slow and near impossible.

Insecurity and leadership vaccum
Apr 26, 2018 - Senior Systems Analyst in Plano, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It's a real company with lots of worldwide locations that will probably be bought by a bigger company someday. You can be lucky and be involved in a team with great peers.
Cons
The company's core profitability is based on dying and dead old iron telephonic technologies. The new profitable (but much smaller) Cloud division has little to know idea what they actually sell to whom or for what reasons. Implementation success is often a miss. Customer service is so abysmal customers frequently eat the contract cancellation expense. The Cloud division does get more new business than business it loses, but it is chaos. It is a pure sales-driven culture. Not technology, not customers. Sales. Upper management dramatically rearranges the strategic deck chairs every few months with the wind and is primarily focused on providing incredible downward pressure on C-level direct reports. Most everyone more than two steps down from upper management has no stake in the profitability of the company and acts accordingly. It is a company either constantly in a state of acquiring competitors or being courted by competitors to be acquired.

Good Place to work, bad place to have a career
Jan 20, 2012 - Field Engineer in Chandler, AZRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The pay was excellent for my region and benefits were the best I have found. Medical/Dental coverage was incredible for my family. Work Schedule flexibility was a major plus and being able to work from home was a tremendous advantage when kids were sick and had to stay home
Cons
No job is safe. Upper management tries to portray a very happy work environment telling the employees what they want to hear but at the same time planning the next round of layoffs. When Mitel took over Inter-tel they didn't take the proper steps to ensure that Direct Branch sales weren't competing with Dealer markets in the same areas and as a result almost all Direct Branches have been closed causing alot of good, talented, dedicated employees to be let go. Management is not very forthcoming with any information and what they do publish makes no sense. They are looking more at saving money than making money, the technology is struggling to keep up with the rest of the market, except in the case of the 5000, and as a result Share prices are strugelling to stay above 2.50 a share.
