I worked at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products (More than 5 years)

    Pros

MEPPI is a great company to work for. The benefits are great, the pay is competitive, and there are advancement opportunities.

    Cons

The parent company in Japan makes the large decisions, and does the engineering and design work. These things take forever, and it causes a lot of frustration and aggravation.

I have been working at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fairly easy work, good co workers, 3 shifts so very accommodating, HR/Employee Relations stand behind employees, very safe environment, climate controlled 20C year round, awesome 401k, and healthcare package.

    Cons

Not to much to complain about.

    Advice to Management

Try to get things employees have suggested implemented quicker. They do listen to employee feedback and have periodic forums sometimes it just takes a little longer than expected to implement some of the suggestions in said forums.

I worked at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked with nice and professional people, they made sure I knew what I was doing, they made sure I got all the information since l worked part time so I knew what was going on at all times but as temp. I got let go for lack of work.

    Cons

There nothing bad I can say about the company Mitsubishi.

  7. "A pretty decent company to work for"

I worked at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products (More than a year)

    Pros

The people were good to work with. Good work life balance. Benefits were pretty standard. The bonus program is very good.

    Cons

All the engineering is done in Japan and it can be hard to get technical information that is needed. Not a lot of room for personal growth.

    Advice to Management

Listen to new employees when the begin. They have a lot of insight from previous companies that may help the company out of old ways of thinking. Hearing that's how we've always done it is not an acceptable answer.

    Pros

Wonderful benefits, while as an Intern I did not receive them, everyone there spoke very highly of the benefit plans from 401k to health and dental

    Cons

I can't think of any cons, good business with great management

I worked at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products full-time

    Pros

Very focused on setting a plan and giving everyone an opportunity to beat it. When met or beaten, employees get an annual bonus. Layoffs are relatively unheard of - very stable company. With Japanese owners, looking to long term trumps short term anomalies.

    Cons

Promotion opportunities are very limited - unless one of the "select" management generally goes outside the company to fill management positions.

I worked at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay & benefits. If you are an underachiever, you have a long career.

    Cons

The management structure was the dumbest I have ever experienced.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the constant non-producers and drains on the bottom line and help develop those that are the producers.

I worked at Mitsubishi Electric Power Products full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fantastic Benefits, parent company and culture (Japanese) provides an interesting contribution to the overall guidance of the company. Very traditional, conservative, and stable.

    Cons

Some of the senior level employees have minimal experience working anywhere except at MEPPI and can be somewhat close-minded to anything "NIH" or a new way of thinking.

    Advice to Management

Brian Heery is a great Senior Level Manager (US MEPPI) as he understands the importance of balancing both IQ and EQ. There are a lot of other senior manager who should follow his lead and learn to step down off their ivory pedastal and truly engage with workers.
