I have been working at Mizuho OSI full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Mizuho OSI creates some of the best surgical platform technology out in the marketplace, and they have a great team of sales professionals in the field.

    Cons

Their service department needs better coverage.

    Advice to Management

Protect your bread and butter table sales from the competition.

I have been working at Mizuho OSI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people, great managers and executive leadership. Mizuho OSI really lives the words of "we are family." Every single employee is helpful to everyone else. No class system. Best company I've ever worked for and best group of people I've ever worked with.

    Cons

I can't think of anything that would prompt me to leave this company. Am I up to 20 words yet? How about now?

    Advice to Management

Keep "leaning in" on the topic of moving from being a supplier of a central component in an OR to being a supplier of a complete OR solution.

    Pros

Good size enough to have some big corp perks, but small enough to have the "family" feel.

    Cons

Didn't observed any yet, maybe some will start showing after times.

    Advice to Management

    cheer!

I worked at Mizuho OSI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company continues to be profitable. Free popcorn and free coffee and water. They have a holiday party every year. The offices are near the freeways.

    Cons

Office politics are expected at any company, however at this company at the director/mid-level it is such a cesspool that more time is spent CYA than growing the company. Executive management is so blind to the fact or refuses to deal with these facts that it will eventually be the demise of the company as they no longer have the market share advantage.

    Advice to Management

Reevaluate and get rid of the deadwood.

I worked at Mizuho OSI full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The size of the company is almost perfect. Big enough to have the resources to play with the big boys but small enough that you will meet and know the CEO. Fantastic product that is asked for by name by most surgeons. Really can't say enough good stuff about this company. This goes for outside sales so I would not have any idea about what it's like to work at the corporate headquarters.

    Cons

The pay probably isn't as strong as some other companies in the medical field but still not ridiculously low or anything. Plus the benefits are great. 3k match on 401k, company car, full medical dental

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

I have been working at Mizuho OSI full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A large component of the company vision is to help patients recover from spine and orthopedic surgery. The products we manufacture and support assist in patient safety, recovery and we embrace new and improved surgical methods. The company is growing and it supports fresh ideas, while providing a supportive atmosphere and an investment in it's employees.

    Cons

Working form home on occasion would be a good option for those whose jobs could support that.

    Advice to Management

Continue to show support for employees with training and opportunities for advancement. Continue to be on the leading edge for new surgical techniques and specialty surgical tables.

I have been working at Mizuho OSI full-time

    Pros

If you're looking for a pay check only and/or currently at entry level status needing experience, you may want to consider working here. You do NOT want to be here for the long term.

    Cons

Poor and incompetent management from the President on down. HR is a disgrace.

    Advice to Management

Headquarters (Japan): Wake up and smell the coffee or tea! This company has so much potential to be a huge cash cow. I would currently classify this company as a true "fixer upper" under the current "leadership". If you want this company to be truly successful, replace your current leadership with competent individuals.

    Pros

Wonderful co-workers. The "worker bees" are great.

    Cons

Horrible executive and upper level management. From the President on down, they are incompetent. No communication, no vision, no strategy, no leadership. There is a lot of politics and infighting. HR does not support the employees. There is no room for advancement. There is a "gotcha" mentality and most of the workforce is demoralized. There are upper lever managers who are allowed to walk around, yelling and screaming, slamming doors, and that is considered being "passionate about their work." Very dysfunctional work environment.

    Advice to Management

The parent company in Japan needs to clean house. Bring in new management from the President and GM on down. Bring in some true HR professionals who support the employees and will destroy the toxic work environment.

    Pros

Fair compensation and benefits are adequate, employees are great to work with.

    Cons

Very weak senior management structure with little or no strategic plan or direction. Very poor employee communication and human resources.

    Advice to Management

Take ownership of your positions and add some passion & professionalism to your daily tasks - earn your paychecks.
