I worked at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center full-time for more than a year

    Pros

jobs everywhere cause they have a monopoly. if you dont work for them you usually dont

    Cons

nurses are a dime a dozen and if you dont someone else will.. no appreciation for thinking or experienced staff. all ;they care about is that you make everything LOOK GOOD. because if it looks good people will appreciate it more.

    Advice to Management

find people who are not "yes ma'ams and yes sirs" who are strong enough to tell you the truth, honestly and fairly.

I have been working at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Multiple shift options. Best pay for the area. Large departments so areas like surgery and ER have their own techs

    Cons

Forced to use ETO if you miss any time. Seniority is abused.

I have been working at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Easy job in predominantly climate controlled environment Comparable pay to local law enforcement positions Annual merit raises most of the time

    Cons

Very political environment with an organization which is healthcare based ran by corporate business men/women most of which have no concept of healthcare. The same thing as any other public service job it can be frustrating always dealing with the problems in such an inherently confrontational position.

    Advice to Management

Do less micromanaging of and let the intermediary supervisors dictate how the work gets done to filter the office politics from top to bottom.
