    Pros

Friendly colleagues and nice supervisors who are willing to teach and guide.

    Cons

Not a good place for those with long term career goals. You don't have to have good qualifications to work here. If you are a degree holder with some experience my advice is that you deserved something better than answering phone calls everyday. Got sick and bored after 1 month of taking calls. My department was customer service call center. Salary is below market rate. Don't like the working hours as we have to work shifts. Lunch break is only 45 minutes which I think was rather short. Benefits are mediocre only if salary was higher it would be better. In my opinion call center is a dead end job and is not suitable for those who wants to grow their career. The most important experience I have gained during stint here is never to work in a call center again. Would not recommend.

    Advice to Management

Consider revising salary to retain talent and motivate employees and to prevent people from leaving

I worked at MobileOne full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Office hours, family oriented environment for the back of the house departments.

    Cons

For one particular frontline, it is KPI driven. Resulting first timer officers very hard to adapt to the working culture. Company is Pro Marketing, Finance and Engineering. It is not receptive to out-of-the-box ideas.

    Advice to Management

Change CEO to customer oriented, instead from Finance background.

    Pros

Able to learn many new things due to the drastic changes in the telco industries.

Office just got renovated with the bright orange colour that brings SM1LES to everyone, if everyone can still smile.

    Cons

No good leadership. The leaders like to scold instead of leading the staff. Very conservative. They care only on the KPI. Customer is always right but the manager is always right too. Throwing back question when someone approaching you definitely can't solve the problem. This is what truly affecting your KPI.

    Advice to Management

Please get the leaders proper training to be a true leader instead of letting them drive your staff away especially the newbies.

    Pros

Work life balance Because of the shuttle bus they provide to mrt station. Few nice colleagues who are willing to share their knowledge and easy going. 18 days of annual leave!

    Cons

Too many cons. Incompetent boss who don't know anything at all. Worst still, no leadership quality and even micromanage.Wonder how can one climb to such manager position. although it's work life balance job but it is mentally stressful to face such boss as well as those old birds who bully people. Also a verbal abusive and negative, full of politics environment.

    Advice to Management

High mgmt only know how to do lip svc. Was very surprised high mgmt knew of problem existing in office yet did no actions to rectify the problem but just sits on it. Really utterly disappointed with this M1.

    Pros

    Work life balance for employees

    Cons

There are too many managers and some managers don't have leadership. They make a fool of team members. You would be able to notice that there is the team which have high turnover.

    Advice to Management

    Cut away the dead wood.

I have been working at MobileOne full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Peaceful, nice colleagues, no office politics. Good for retirement. Other than that, nothing worth mentioning about this company. Quiet environment

    Cons

Company has a strange culture. Plenty of long tenure staffs, and they seem to groom those staffs in the following order:
    1) favorite staff
    2) staffs with long tenure
Nothing wrong with this but you better belong in these 2 categories, else you gotta wait a long time before they remember to promote you.
    Poor variable bonus
Runs like a private limited company
And plenty of lousy senior management who knows how to apple polish

    Advice to Management

Likely to fail if you do nothing to improve

    Pros

I can only speak for the department which i worked for, Customer Service Dept. It is a young, fun and dynamic environment to work in. It provides good training ground for fresh graduates. Unlike most offices which are plagued by severe politicking, in M1 Customer Service Dept, one can often find good rapport amongst the ground level staffs.

    Cons

MobileOne's career enrichment programs is nearly non existent and is very much unstructured. One would've expected more from a big corporation as such. Self motivation is very crucial for any employees to be successful, but encouragement and proper training will definitely help to further the cause. This is something which the management seriously lack, or chooses to turn a blind eye to.

The mentality of the management is to do the bare minimal and yet gets the best result from the employees. It's very much like calling "TOTO/4D" an investment, with $1 quick-pick TOTO ticket , one still stands a chance to win millions of dollars.
But seriously what are the chances of that happening???

I will not encourage anyone who wants to go far in their career to work in M1. Getting a promotion in M1 is 99% Russian roulette and 1% based on merit.

    Advice to Management

In the telecommunication industry where the market is becoming more saturated in recent years, employees are a company's biggest asset. Because when you can't reduce the price any lower and when all the competitors have the same products, the people factor is the only factor that is going to make the difference.

Hence, invest in your employees. Because only when they grow, that's when the company will follow suit.

Some senior management competent and nice to work with. Benefits not bad. Most colleagues from mid-level downwards nice.

    Cons

Bad senior management make things difficult for competent management and employees. Bad decisions forced top-down. Internal operations messy. Good employees overloaded. Bad employees liked by "important" management get away with everything.

    Pros

The only thing that kept me going was the support that we get from some of our immediate superiors.

Lots and lots of deadwood and bad decision maker.
Doesn't give a hoot on what the impact will be to the staff the bottom of the ladder.
