I worked at Modis (More than a year)

    Pros

Really the only pro is coworkers. There are not 14 more words of positivity about this place. The office is okay.

    Cons

    Everything.
    Pay is awful.
Upper management (MD) doesn't understand what half of the teams in the office do, but expects them to meet his personalized expectations.
Many females have left after feeling uncomfortable around the Managing Director.
Upper management is easily butt hurt and makes rash decisions that hurt more than help.
Management regularly lies to employees and thinks nothing of it. They think nothing of their employees, all that matters is the business but they are leading that to fail by their awful management and poor decisions.

    Advice to Management

When your employees interview for internal positions, don't send a mass rejection email. Take 2 minutes out of your day, pretend you care, and give them the courtesy of legitimate feedback. Also, recognize that you pay way under market rate and don't try to get your employees to work late for no extra pay with one slice of pizza as a motivator.

I have been working at Modis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Do your job and go home, you don't take it with you.

    Cons

Top heavy in management and managers do very little work for what they're paid. Employees have no benefits (no holiday pay, no sick days, no vacation days). Health benefits are garbage and way too expensive. You don't earn a full year's salary after you deduct holidays, holiday shutdown, and furloughs from your pay. Stay away! You deserve better.

    Advice to Management

Negotiate better contracts with HP Inc. and terminate non-essential managers. Take care of your people!

I worked at Modis as a contractor

    Pros

Not much good to say. Follow up by recruiters is good in the beginning but like most recruiters move on to other people that can make them a quick $.

    Cons

No follow up, you have to reach out to them, low ball your salary, inexperienced recruiters who don't care. Look at other companies that do exceptionally well, research how recruiters are successful.

    Advice to Management

Train your people! People looking for a job deserve respect. Your industry should be there to do just that. Follow up and investment in your people is essential so you don't get reviews like mine.

    Pros

They hire entry level people, not everywhere will do that.

    Cons

Everything else. The people are okay.

    Advice to Management

Don't expect people to work for free...............

    Pros

    the pay is sometimes good

    Cons

*Extreme mismanagement- they will definitely screw up all your paperwork and land you in a hell of a lot of trouble!
*None of the recruiters will respond to your calls or mails UNLESS it is something urgent or important for them.
    *Worst insurance plan
*They will NEVER respond even if you really badly need to get in touch with them.
*They WILL definitely mix up all the paperwork and screw it up so bad that you land in trouble at the end and they get away easily.
*They ALWAYS give last minute intimations for every important thing and that will catch you off guard and you can never get yourself together to brace what they hit you with.
Bottom line- one of the worst organizations to work for

    Advice to Management

Either don't take up so much workload or hire more people to manage the load. You cannot have the cake and eat it too. Please do your employees a favor and sort yourselves out.

I worked at Modis full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pay is decent, benefits are decent.

    Cons

Many of the contractors that this company hires are of international descent. Behind closed doors in internal office meetings, these same contractors are made fun of for their various cultural backgrounds, accents, and names. I've been in these meetings and been disgusted by the behavior and discrimination. This company uses contractors of foreign backgrounds to line their own pockets and mocks the contractors behind their back.

We are deeply saddened to hear this account. At Modis, we understand that our contractors are at the heart of what we do. We also understand that diversity strengthens our organization, the community... More

I worked at Modis as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is average quick start dates

    Cons

The company outsources you to HP. It is nothing but a mess. You get a contract where the company does not want you. They do not know the infrastructure of the company and can not get you the access you need to work. The upper management requires daily meetings in which you drop everything including your work and listen to them gripe and not accomplish anything. Employees are set up for failure.

    Advice to Management

Straighten your mess out. Have your management trained and access to systems before start date.It was almost worse than working at comcast. I would refer to this as a low end job

    Cons

HP contract was a mess. Started December 1st. Sit around did nothing until Jan 16th. Didn't have access even by February. Daily meetings that were disruptive and accomplished nothing

    Advice to Management

When you take over the IT for a company have all the details ironed our.
