I have been working at Molina Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Somewhat above average pay and decent benefits

    Cons

Neither, IT or PMO management support staff. Most of the staff are overworked Also management does not provide guidance for advance nor support career goals. The focus is WORK and delivery!

    Advice to Management

HR should measure management's performance including staff development and growth. Also focus on employee diversity (less than 3%)

I have been working at Molina Healthcare full-time

    Pros

If you can find a role in the right department, it can be a decent place to work. After working there for a couple of years, I finally did and it's made the entire experience much better. The director I'm currently working under has been spectacular.

    Cons

Molina's Executive Leadership made several costly miscalculations and mistakes regarding costs vs profitability which resulted in huge loses of the last 2 quarters and the ouster of the entire Molina family from the company.
Ironically, the remaining executives remain are now in charge of making up for these costly mistakes. They are executing a series of layoffs/cuts to departments/staff that had little to no influence over these loses.
Of course, this has completely ruined the overall atmosphere and culture not to mention the company's outlook. While this massive restructuring might improve the financials for the immediate, the cuts are so extensive I can't imagine it will be sustainable.

I worked at Molina Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have a very family centered approach to business. This fosters growth and has been a very successful approach for them. I highly recommend this company - they have a slogan "We want to be the last company you work for" and, unlike some companies, they mean it.

    Cons

They need to centralize their technical support locations to about two in order to improve coordination and service around the country.

    Advice to Management

Keep on valuing your employees at all levels and you will continue to be successful.

    Pros

A public traded company the provides its employees with awesome benefits including an opportunity to have ownership.

    Cons

Rapid growth and lack of coordination and alignment with IT, operations, and administration can be a bit frustration. Also, as a FTE in IT you're a minority.

    Advice to Management

Create and socialize career development and monitoring; invest in employees development will be rewarding and will encourage employees to re-invest and build their careers here.

I worked at Molina Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Good work hours, reportedly good benefits

    Cons

Seemingly disorganized, a passive, "state employee" mentality, unfamiliar with the basics of the topic and profession they were seeking to hire. I knew leaving my meeting that this was not the opportunity I had been taking my time to seek. Scheduling was long and convoluted, the two women interviewing me were nice, professional but very awkward, with typed out notes of basic, obviously Internet-recommended basic interview questions. No question seemed to relate to the work at hand. Interviewers were nervous, announced they would take turns asking questions. Very nice people but just a very awkward, unprofessional situation that I scheduled my time for and drove over an hour to conduct hoping this would be the right opportunity. I informed the recruiter that it did not feel right for me and perhaps they felt the same, though their interview process might suggest they need a higher standard of professional employees among their ranks.

    Advice to Management

Have Human Resources play a greater role in your interview process. Train those charged with conducting interviews in how to do so.

I worked at Molina Healthcare as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked at Molina Health care as a consultant, the only good part was the location, nothing else.

    Cons

Middle/ Senior IT management needs to be trained enough to take the responsibilities rather then relying upon their own team members and PM's.

PMO processes are not very well defined, there are too many cooks who are spoiling the broth.

Team culture and team building does not exist within IT.

    Advice to Management

Please provide proper training to the IT Management.
