Competing Priorities and Lack of Resources

      Jun 6, 2021 - Program Director
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

In general, very friendly work environment with fair compensation. The organization effectively implements the principles of managed care. The organization is rapidly growing with various competing priorities and therefore opportunities for professional growth.

      Cons

Poor communication from leadership regarding strategic vision in terms of "where we are going". Large focus on acquisitions at the cost of putting existing operational processes at the local level at risk. Extremely lean organization, with very few organizers of work (project managers), resulting in functional area leaders and operational owners to manage implementation efforts in addition to regular daily duties. Lack of a standardized (or even general) approach, process, or procedure to most types of projects, leading to recreating the wheel frequently. Long work hours with the feeling of not getting much accomplished. Very low morale across the company.

      Pros

If your California you may be ok.

      Cons

Company losing money so consolidating everything to CA as much as possible Pushed to work overtime routinely If they need to cut jobs due to losing money in MI they don’t have the respect to do a layoff, they put about 40% plan on a ‘Improvement Plan’ to force you to quit. I saw many colleagues be highly ranked then put on a plan when they needed to reduce staff by 30% due to Medicaid funding cuts, This happened in all areas from IT to in care home nurses and RNs

      Pros

During Covid, the company was helpful in transitioning us to at-home work agents. They provided extra money such as a bonus to help their employees.

      Cons

Management in member services, the director does not value the employees. They would rather lose an employee versus work with a good employee

      Pros

Benefits ok, pay a little above average. Great communication from upper management on what's going on in the company. Supervisors are approachable and helpful. Work life balance good. Hub to interact and earn prizes.

      Cons

Workload to heavy for 1 person. Pay doesn't compensate workload expectations. Vacation time accumulate as you earn it. Need to better address safety out in the field.
