Cons
No cross team collaboration No way to give feedback to the product team The things that drove me crazy as a customer 5 years ago, still drive me crazy Ridiculously low raise

Pros
Good perks Many of the employees left are nice to work with
Cons
Leadership has become sleazy and seems to be laying off people because they can. When I started here a few years ago, it was because the leaders cared about employees, asked for their feedback, and actually implemented it as best they could. They avoided layoffs as much as possible. People at the company were open to feedback, curious and just wonderful to work with. Over the last year, people have become manipulative, overworked, and often only look out for themselves. And it seems this started from the top down. When our leaders were considering the acquisition and rumors began, Zander shouted at us in a town hall saying "DO NOT BELIEVE RUMORS PEOPLE" only to announce the acquisition a couple weeks later. Thats when the blatant lies from the leadership team began. This has continued and the lack of transparency is now showing up at all levels, even in little things like being afraid to tell us point blank that one of our perks is fully taxable now, unlike last year. We had layoffs "to avoid future layoffs", and then had "unexpected" layoffs again a couple months later - the day before our earnings call. We have become another greedy, cash seeking company with little to no regard for employees, which is so sad to see. I used to be proud to work here.

Pros
Excellent DEI bona fides. Friendly coworkers. Good work/life balance. Inidividual contributors have a can-do attitude.
Cons
A significant legacy offering mixed with a lot of acquired overlapping products and tech stacks leads to a lot of effort treading water, just keeping the existing products running. Poorly performing products are put on life support instead of being terminated, which distracts. Constant platform shifts consumes half of our development effort. True, meaningful product innovation has been very rare. Followthrough on major technical initiatives has been midling. Despite having time to mature, the core products are, ironically, not enterprise-worthy, which puts it at odds with where leadership wants to take things. The company and brand is unfocussed. The go to market strategy is failing, and solid individual contributors are being let go due to failed strategies coming from up top. 25% in layoffs in the last 4 months, and there's been no change in behavior; no reason to believe there won't be another round within the next six months.

DISASTROUS FALL FROM GRACE!
Feb 24, 2023 - Senior Staff Software Engineer in San Mateo, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The PEOPLE are the best asset this company has, unfortunately they are grinding them to the core and laying off top performers with no rhyme or reason! It is a disgrace that I have to see highly intelligent coworkers get shown the boot out of sheer incompetence by the most overpaid CEO ever.
Cons
Horrible executive leadership. They have zero sense of direction and every quarter comes a new business plan that eventually fails. They are laying off integral people who built and made this company what it was. There have been two rounds of layoffs in less than four months. It is a CRYING SHAME that ZANDER LURIE still has a job. He only has a job because he has many friends on the board! The entire executive team will act nice to your face, and then totally gut you and everything your team has out of nowhere.

Groundhog day - SaaS AEs Beware
Feb 17, 2023 - Sale Leader, Mid Market in San Mateo, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Momentive is really just a 20 year old SurveyMonkey trying to dig themselves out of a hole. The pro is if you can stick it out there they are going to be acquired soon and their CEO will certainly be pushed out.
Cons
The CEO inherited the position around five years ago and has fired three sets of sales teams. He has no idea how to build an enterprise sales team. Just recently he created a new business sales team, hesitated on giving them a territory, then let them work the territory for three week, followed by firing everyone. Conveniently, he told them that their jobs were eliminated. Six months ago, he fired the entire BDR team. Back when he inherited the CEO position, he fired the sales team then to. Very toxic company for anyone in sales.

Pros
good work/life balance. unless you're on the east coast since the rest of the employees are west coast.
Cons
no cross-team collaboration. a lot of "not my job" attitudes. rude behaviors. territory fights because the sales operations team is inadequate. commissions wrong. name change ruined inbound leads. turned off SEO for a year though

Pros
Great Benefits, remote work opportunities, Bonusly, and a friendly environment to be in.
Cons
I’d say in 2021, the moment they changed their name And rebranded the company, the downfall began. CMO left almost immediately after and there was no clear direction. 8 months later we had a failed acquisition - and the C-Suite put entirely way to much strategy and effort into. 8 months later, first round of layoffs, and the CFO and CRO leave the company. So many red flags, so many changes in strategy, focus, and movement in the org. 4 months later another round of layoffs and another shift in strategy, focus, and roadmaps. When It boils down to it, leadership needs to own their faults and face the repercussion of their own mistakes.

Excellent Opportunity Post Grad
Feb 20, 2023 - Business Development Manager in San Mateo, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Company Culture held the bar high for my entire tenure. Very encouraging work environment that helps develop your skillset and truly cares about the impact you provide. Perfect combination of low pressure with maintaining expectations of excellence.
Cons
Unfortunately was part of a restructure Lay off. This is something that is not uncommon at momentive as they went through a mass layoff months later. It seems that they may not be on the best trajectory from my experience.

Good people, meh product, bad infrastructure
Jan 12, 2023 - SalesRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Solid benefits (401k match is great) Nice people 2 week long company-wide shut downs (July and Dec) to allow everyone time off Fairly diverse for a “tech” company
Cons
Products (beyond SurveyMonkey core) aren’t up to industry standards Unlimited PTO is a farce, taking time off is frowned upon so people rarely do (sales team was forbidden to take off week of Christmas) Almost no one (10-20%) hits quota Lots of unnecessary mtgs, trainings, and micromanagement/tracking/monitoring - every mtg, email, and conversation is recorded and scrutinized Fake care - leadership presents as kind/caring but turns ugly and discards people as soon as they aren’t performing Alleges to be a tech company but fails on so many levels…internal systems are slow and error-prone
