    Pros

Momentum offers a fun, positive work environment. Pet-friendly and many opportunities to socialize with co-workers. Impressive client roster. Competitive benefits package.

    Cons

Salary below industry/market average, never received a review or pay increase in 3+ years of employment. Most employees had to quit/threaten to quit to be promoted or receive a salary increase.

    Pros

Strong clientele; collaborative working environment; premium placed on work/life balance; office locations in multiple cities across the country

    Cons

Not a lot of room for upward mobility; appears to be a growing agency that still acts like it's a small agency, which leads to a lot of secrecy; not a lot of transparency in the review process

I worked at Momentum Worldwide full-time

    Pros

CULTURE: They hire good people who work and play hard.

    Cons

PROMOTIONS: Our team always came in the top 3 to generate more revenue each year and for the 2+ years I was employed, we only received a minimal promotion once.
LEADERSHIP: There are great people in Senior roles that are trying to make Momentum a better company but there are also a couple that hinder the company's potential to really succeed.
WORK-LIFE BALANCE: Our Team was understaffed for the entire duration of my employment and people left because they were being over-worked more than the norm for the company and the services it provides.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT: Out team had lackluster management who did not care about the growth of their fellow employees.

    Advice to Management

Evaluate leadership in the NY office and really listen to employees when it comes to the countless surveys that are sent to be filled out. Hire the correct management and make sure that they attend work-shops and are reviewed on management skills several times a year to ensure positive growth. The right management isn't always the one that has been there the longest.

    Pros

Good colleagues. Good client. Work hard, play hard flexibility.

    Cons

Lower salaries than other agencies in town. Not the absolute lowest, but not average. Management's idea of work-life balance and values pended on which department or group you were in. There were some polar opposites.

    Pros

    Cons

lack of structure and career development opportunities. managers promoted based on career-centric skills vs. management desire/ability. highly decentralized company structure with many different offices acting independently with little sharing.

"What was once an agency all about the people and good work has become a corporation concerned with the bottomline."

    Pros

Good starting experience. Stepping stone on to bigger and better things. Good client base.

    Cons

Momentum was once an agency that I was proud to work for. Upper Mngmt cared for the people, the work and about the culture. Now it is an agency run like a corporation in which the NY office axes people without even knowing who they are or what they do. The pay scale is less than many other agencies and local companies. Upper management insists on pursuing advertising work and shuns the sales promotion/retail work that made Momentum what it is and what the agency excels at. Many employees view Momentum as a stepping stone to something better somewhere else.

    Advice to Management

Get back to the people, the work and the culture. You are losing your best people, the work has clearly suffered through the past 5 years and there is no culture anymore; and culture is the heart and soul of an agency. Recognize that you have become an empty corporate agency and make changes to get your groove back.
