I worked at Monarch HealthCare part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The cordial atmosphere among coworkers is exceptional. The hours of operation were excellent for a single working mother. I enjoyed assisting individuals with person centered goal setting.

    Cons

The salary and lack of benefits is challenging. The pay was essentially minimum wage. It is hard to make ends meet on a minimum wage salary. The benefits were non-existent.

    Advice to Management

Listen and follow up with staff.

    Pros

There were little pros working with this company.

    Cons

Training was all verbal and rushed. Management went on the words of co-workers and I was fired without warning.

    Advice to Management

Have a training program set in place for a better learning environment. Help the staff learn what it is you expect from them. Set an obtainable work goal.

    Pros

Monarch offers a wide range of services to individuals with intellectual disabilities, substance abuse, etc. They ensure the individuals we support work towards achieving their goals and dreams. Monarch always have job opportunities.

    Cons

Monarch employees are over worked and the pay does not match their work expectations. Monarch operates sleepover homes in which require staff to work 16 hour days. The staff are required to sleep at the facility without pay. Monarch places a heavy work load on all of their employees which contributes their high turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

I recommend that Monarch reevaluate the work loads they place on their staff. Monarch needs to offer incentives for their staff.

    Pros

Very good environment to work in. Colleagues are very friendly and helpful. As a new employee, I get my answers cleared very fast and my manager is very cooperative and understanding.

    Cons

Employee morale is low because of low salaries. I saw 6 longtime employees leave in a month which I feel is not promising.

I worked at Monarch HealthCare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Casual and comfortable work environment. The company is growing rapidly so it should offer lots of employment growth opportunities. The company's mission should make its employees feel like they are making a difference.

    Cons

I was hired as a temp employee and worked as a temp for 6 months. I worked well over 40 hours per week but did not get benefits. When I was hired as full time employee I still had to wait 90 days for benefits. Management has a communication breakdown and the company needs to start centralizing departments to fit rapid company growth. I was very excited about working for this company but was very disappointed when I left.

    Advice to Management

    Centralize records...better employee training.

I have been working at Monarch HealthCare part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

One good benefit is that the company gets lunch catered to them by the drug reps weekly.

    Cons

Management is questionable, employees are treated like a number, the budget is more important than the quality of work or the employee. Employees are expected to do more than what the job entails and are not compensate for what they are worth.

    Advice to Management

Give employees what they deserve, being treated like people not just a number. Stop trying to micro manger everything and let departments be responsible for their team.
