I worked at Monarch Landing part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The staff and the residents were amazing. The staff became my family and I looked forward to working with them everyday.

    Cons

The management team could have been better in terms of listening to the floor staff and showing a little more respect.

I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed your time working with us! Teamwork is a big part of our culture here at Monarch Landing. Our nursing management staff is somewhat new and always striving to do better. In fact, we just had our new Administrator start with us last week. As he learns ...

I worked at Monarch Landing full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Indoor parking, free meals with residence. The chance to be fired and collect unemployment. All the constructive criticism you can handle.

    Cons

NO education. NO ethical consideration to the types of patients that are accepted, just money brought in. HR is a joke. Administration just wants you to do as you are told and nothing more.

    Advice to Management

New HR team. Listen to staff. Come out of your office and pay attention to how the place runs. Appreciate your employees for the care they provide and the job they do.

I have been working at Monarch Landing full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Started as a temporary employee and was hired on full-time shortly after. I work with a great team, work great hours, get good exposure to people/experiences and I feel like I have a voice. I think the best part is that I don't come in on a Monday morning to 50 emails that came in over the weekend - people here know how to balance their work life and personal life. If I work extra hours its because I want to, not because...

    Cons

There are some people that work here that have negative attitudes and/or are lazy and only want to do the bare minimum to get by. These workers can potentially taint the culture here at Monarch Landing but they tend not to last here too long!

    Advice to Management

Continue to engage employees, listen to them and let them give their input.

I have been working at Monarch Landing full-time

    Pros

-sometimes you would have good coworkers

    Cons

-management and HR are a joke. -unprofessional -do not care about their employees at all -management doesn't help out -low pay -health center is understaffed and heavy -Assisted living is understaffed(because they would pull them to the health center when the health center is short) and the manager is very unprofessional -too much drama -

    Advice to Management

Start being more professional and stop choosing favorites. Treat your employees right. LISTEN.

I have been working at Monarch Landing full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Wonderful work environment. Very competitive salary and excellent benefits. Staff gets bonuses to pick up extra shifts! Great staff to resident ratio. Co-workers really function as a collective group/TEAM! A feeling that upper management cares, wants your input and values the skills/experience you bring to the table. I have an incredibly short commute so that's always a plus!!! Nursing staff and supervisors collaborate...

    Cons

Agency staff are wonderful, but they don't always know what unit they are assigned to and sometimes that can delay their arrival to relieve you, and hence you may stay a bit longer for your shift. I wish our nurse "grey" scrub tops were a bit more colorful, but that way everyone knows what your role is there. :)

    Advice to Management

Communicate always with your staff. We all want to feel like our thoughts, ideas, opionions, and concerns are being heard and matter. Each one of us brings special attributes and talents to the job and field of nursing, take full avantage of that!
