I have been working at Monell Chemical Senses Center full-time

    Pros

Premier location for scientific research into the chemical senses (taste and smell)

    Cons

Some older facilities/lab spaces among the newer and more recently renovated lab spaces. All are functional, some just have a little more character than others.

I have been working at Monell Chemical Senses Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There's a lot of paid time off.

    Cons

    Pay isn't great (it's a non-profit company).

    Pros

Small tight knit community of smart people are the backbone of this institution (scientists, postdocs & lab techs). The administrative staff is full of sweet people who have been here a long time.

Being an admin. here is good for an introvert - people communicate mostly though e-mail and scientists are not especially in-your-face type people.

If there is something administrative that they do here that you are interested in, you can probably convince your manager to let you do that thing (however, there are limited options for this because of the size of center - it's small)

    Cons

There are some social gatherings, but this is probably not the best for someone who wants lots of social interaction at work - people mostly keep to themselves.

Semi-bad pay depending on your perspective.

Funding issues/ uncertainty, not likely to effective admin. staff.
