I have been working at Money Concepts full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Family owned, open door policy, excellent benefits package, encouragement to learn, acceptance of different personalities, business casual environment, growth potential is unlimited.

    Cons

Listing a con isn't feasible at this time for me. Every employer is different, and it's really how we as employees choose to react to the circumstances that defines the cons.

I worked at Money Concepts full-time

    Pros

Nice location, lots of fun company events, some good co-workers.

    Cons

Two of the supervisors are awful to work for, they play favorites with the staff and gossip with each other constantly, very catty and cliquish. Coming in early and staying late is like a competition here, and those with families get the short end of the stick because you're also expected to socialize outside of work. The quality of your work matters less than office politics. And most of upper management is composed of an extended family, so promotions just don't happen there.

If you're brand new to the industry and need basic training plus a job on your resume, it's fine. But it's not a company you can grow in and you'll likely tire of the high school level drama quickly.

    Advice to Management

Clean house. Look at the reasons the turnover is so high in some departments.

    Pros

For the most part they leave you alone and don't care if financial planning isn't your full time position. Most of the money concepts reps do taxes or sell insurance as well as financial planning. Good national and regional conferences.

    Cons

Strict compliance can be annoying. Rep services is sometimes bothered by reps asking their assistance.

    Pros

Independence, set your own schedule, complete open architecture for products and technology.

    Cons

Limited support, structure and training depending on your region. Limited back office support. Open technology means costly systems for CRM, Planning, Investment Analysis and reporting

    Advice to Management

More back office personnel and support. Ownership of issues and their resolution. Take successful regions and fully duplicate to all regions
