    Pros

The sheer diversity within the company. They have moved to Poland now but when they were in Lakewood, CO, it was a microcosm of the world. You were accepted and cherished with all your idiosyncrasies and eccentricities, and allowed to move up the ladder as far as you could go.

    Cons

Totally disorganized. No one knew what was going on. Things changed everyday, sometimes for the worst. I suppose there was no central planning unit that made sure all departments ran in harmony and conformed to the plan. But then again, there was never a plan.

    Advice to Management

Invest in a central planning unit. Have a vision and a plan, and make sure all departments and employees understand the plan and conform to it.

I worked at MoneyGram International full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people worked at Moneygram when I started in 2006. We worked hard and got a lot accomplished. Unfortunately, many of the best people left.

Pay, benefits, and PTO are all very competitive, and I always felt like I was paid what I was worth, and sometimes more.

    Cons

Headquarters was moved to Texas, making the St. Louis Park office a lower priority. Much of the IT department was outsourced to Tata Consulting, and feelings were hurt when full time employees were told they would be laid off, but the expectation was that they would train in Tata consultants who would be doing their jobs.

    Advice to Management

Less management layers would help. Figure out which employees are most valuable to the company, and take their feedback seriously.

Fast moving with changes and keeps up on technology. Making changes to benefits to be more employee friendly.

    Cons

Many transitions to off shore jobs to lower labor costs. Rapidly changing upper management which has lead to lack of continuity.

Great multicultural environment, hard working people that care and want to make a difference.

    Cons

Upper management does not care for ethics and employees. They opened offshore with less prepared employees and horrible impact in customer care to save money closed HQ in USA.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company to people that care and will bring USA jobs back.
