I have been working at Monro, Inc. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I work on a team with a fantastic group of talented, passionate people. The work is both challenging and rewarding, and there are many opportunities to learn and develop new skills. I get to work on a variety of projects that support the company's transformation and improve the teammate experience.

    Cons

Although a perfect fit for me, Monro is a "roll up your sleeves" fast paced environment and probably not the right company for anyone who doesn't like change.

I have been working at Monro, Inc. full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I have worked for Monro, Inc. since 2002. The company has grown significantly over the last 18 years. With growth comes the inevitable growing pains. I can say that with the most recent change in management, the culture and internal growth opportunities have drastically improved. If you are a dedicated and hard working employee, your contributions are duly noticed. This leads to opportunities to growth both professionally within Monro, Inc. as well as personally through the many community programs that Monro, Inc. is involved with such as Foodlink and United Way to name a few. I am also very proud of how Monro, Inc. has handled the COVID pandemic as an essential business, striving to keep employees and guests safe.

    Cons

As an employee you are held to a high standard in both quality and quantity of work as well as maintaining Monro's core standards. It is a face paced and challenging environment at times, but fellow teammates are willing to help via collaboration where needed and the hard work is recognized by the Senior Leadership Team.

I have been working at Monro, Inc. full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    • Monro is a fast-paced and challenging environment where those that are willing to think and reach outside of their own silo's will ultimately gain additional skills and visibility that will propel their careers forward. • There are excellent growth opportunities inside the company - I've personally been promoted 6 times in the 8 years that I've been with Monro. • Although the fast-pace and ever-evolving climate may be seen as a challenge to some, with the right mindset and attitude you will grow with the company. • Monro has established itself as a leader in the automotive aftermarket repair industry. Our coast-to-coast expansion is the fruit of an aggressive growth strategy through both acquisition and new construction coupled with the hard work and sweat of its teammates. • We are always looking for opportunities to expand our footprint while looking to increase our organic growth through the attraction of new guests and introduction of new services. Where most companies focus their energies on one or another, Monro’s leadership pushes for excellence in all areas. My experience has been that if you set the bar of expectations high, you achieve great results – and that is what happens inside our walls.

    Cons

    • Because there are so many concurrent projects, I believe that some management can lose sight of "reasonable expectations" for work load. As leaders it is their responsibility to see where some folks are being over-burdened and others are being under-burdened and to re-distribute workloads. Monthly or quarterly one-on-one sessions with subordinates can do wonders to gauge employee satisfaction and to open communication lines. It can also make those in leadership roles aware of issues or opportunities that they wouldn’t otherwise have visibility to because they aren’t “in the trenches”. Likewise, managers and directors should spend time learning what their subs are doing. It is easy in a company our size for roles and responsibilities to be added on to the original job description with no documentation along the way. This has led to job descriptions that reflect only a fraction of a person’s true duties in day-to-day operations.

I have been working at Monro, Inc. full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It's a very collaborative environment that will give you the opportunity to be cross-trained. One of the first things that stood out to me about working here was the culture, regardless of your Title or Role, your opinions and perspectives are valued. Being at the Rochester HQ aka SSC location gives you a lot of visibility to the Managers, Directors, Vice Presidents, and the CEO. Almost everyone is on a first name bases and it's a friendly atmosphere. Your ideas are challenged (in a good way) to push you to think bigger and more creatively.

    Cons

Our health care plans are not affordable.

I have been working at Monro, Inc. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Our corporate values are lived and not just talked about. You truly understand how every part of the business impacts the overall team and the bottom line. It's a challenging place to work and you learn something new every day. I also really enjoy that there is such a spirit of teamwork here and everyone is very collaborative. I can honestly say that I've learned more here in a short time than I did in the 12 years combined at previous companies.

    Cons

The technology isn't the most up to date, but it is being upgraded

I have been working at Monro, Inc. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The vision from corporate is lost in translation.

    Cons

Not a team environment but definitely a cut throat work environment. A high majority of dishonest miss fits driven by sales numbers that push employees to sale services regardless if the customer actually needs it. Hint>>> we provide a service and educate the consumer of services NEEDED we are not here to sale sale sale!
