Company that needs to change as they grow, but doesn't want to

    Pros

    Excellent benefits, great office perks.

    Cons

Too much corporate and office politics. It's like being back in High School. If you're not a brown noser or someone's favorite then your career will be stifled. Upper Management doesn't care to listen to their employees, there is limited career path, if any at all. Management does not take ownership, they simply pass the blame to save themselves. They seem to be conflicted and confused on where they want to go and how to scale.

    Great part time position

Apr 3, 2014 - Monster MAT Team in Boston, MA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

You make your own hours. You get to talk to a lot of people. You get free Monster beverages.

    Cons

At times, upper management doesn't understand exactly what goes on with their team members. Some team members take advantage of the other hard working fellow employees and never get caught/fired. No growth from within. Don't think that this job may lead to further opportunities with the company, because they rarely hire from within.

    Leadership needs improvement

Feb 3, 2018 - NYC MAT in New York, NY
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Work can be exciting, active, and challenging. This job appeals to those who have a passion for field marketing, or Monster Energy drinks.

    Cons

Poor leadership. Lack of, or slow implementation of new initiatives in the work place. Issues aren't thoroughly investigated when brought to the attention of upper management. Limited work hours available to MAT's. Inconsistent scheduling process makes it more difficult to maintain other work.

    Pros

Very nice atmosphere. Love the people I work with. The culture at MEC is very hip and edgy.

    Cons

The politics in this corporate space out weigh all of the Pros. SVP's offten bring people in at higher pay rather than paying their loyal dedicated employees. Raises and Bonus are horrible you wait all year and bust your butt performing to get rewarded with grabage. Most upper management is rewarded with higher raises and bonus while the minions do all the work and are not rewarded.

Monster Energy--Fun job for young, single people, but low paying and no room for career advancement

    Business Outlook

    Pros

-Fun environment and access to all the energy drinks you can possibly drink -Low turnover and flexible schedule -If you like to travel, opportunity to travel -Flexible schedule and remote office -Great expense account -Growing internationally and rapidly

    Cons

-Low paying compared to other beverage companies -Growing so rapidly, constant changes on a weekly basis. No focus. -Very little room for career advancement. -Poor communication within the company and very disorganized -They tend to promote young, uneducated, under qualified applicants to Upper Management. Or they hire/ promote younger, under-qualified that lack education so they won't have to pay what a qualified applicant would deserve. "It's out with the old and in with the new kind of attitude." -No internal website, like most beverage companies have to communicate changes, or to seek advancement or transfers in other regions. For example: they advertise job openings on Craigslist.
